**2TB can be formatted for PC easily

    • Would you need dedicated software to format it? I'm guessing all portable HD's are identical its just the format?

      • +2

Just format it like you would any other.

      • No. Windows and OS X both have tools to do it for you. It's a simple process.

    • For what it's worth — Includes 2-year, 200GB access to OneDrive® ($95 (USD) value) for even more opportunities to share with friends and family.

      • buy a $2 telstra sim and you can have the same thing, and it last probably more than 2 years if you just get someone to send $1 into this sim every 6 month to keep it alive.

  • Damn, jumped the gun on the 240GB Sandisk Ultra II for $100 on the 20% kogan eBay sale :(

    • too soon junior. :)

    • So, this is a good deal.

  • hmmm 25" ips

Using one for some months now. Picture is quite bright and consistent at all viewing angles compared to my previous el-cheapo monitor. Good value actually.

You will find that the base is not strong but unless you keep kicking the desk, it's fine.

      • Yea the base actually sucks. With my previous monitor (g225hq) the power button was front facing however on this monitor the power button is bottom facing so when you try to turn it off and on it will wobble the entire monitor as you are pushing the entire monitor up with the button. It's also 4ms even though it says 6ms on MSY. Fair bit of light bleeding but its very usable. Like the bezels - noice n skinny.
        Great colors

      • Agree. Wonky base/stand and no height adjust. Unfortunately not vesa mount compatible. So not possible to replace stand. I would have got one if you could. Otherwise a nice thin bezel IPS monitor.

      • Ask me anything

        • Hows the backlight bleeding on your model? Are they both more or less the same or one is better one is worse?

    • Should I buy it? I want to use it with my xbox one

      • Yup. It will work perfectly fine

Can I have your sister's number?

  • can i use the hard disk for my xboxone?

    • Nope, Microsoft locks it down so you can't. It'll prolly work for ps4 though.

      • You can hock up a hard drive via USB and store games on it. Sony lock down their system for only internal hard drives.

      • You sure? That doesnt make any sense when some other HDD can basically do the same thing

        • This is what happens when you post at 4am

Of course, connecting via usb to xbox will work. I was referring to pulling the 2TB disk out and installing into the xbox.

        • Yup, got my little sister a 1TB western digital passport for her Xbox One, just hock it up and the console asks if you want to use it just for media (it leaves it alone than) or if you want to format it for games.

If you format it for games, it becomes the same thing as an internal drive, you can even connect it to a different Xbox One and have your games ready there. (Just sign in and the Xbox One picks up the license or put the disk in if you have physical).

Many of my friends have attached drives from 500GB TO 1Tb. I think the only requirement is it has to be USB3.

        • @sabaramo: ah isee, my mistake then because I didnt write properly

    • You should be able to via USB.

      • So for any external it should be fine for any platform isnt it?

        • Not sure what you mean by platfrom here, but as far as I know Sony don't let you install games on external drives but Microsoft do let you with the Xbox One. And I believe it has to be USB3 for the Xbox One to let you install games.

        • @Zylam Marex: I see, thanks for the clarification m8

  • I'm a bit confused, is it a portable hard drive or an external one? 2.5 or 3.5.

Title says portable, links says external.

    Thanks.

    Never mind, read the description:

The Seagate® Backup Plus Slim Portable Drive for Mac® is the simple, one-click way to protect and share your entire digital.

Good deal, should be format-able for Windows.

    • Good deal, should be format-able for Windows

Just to make it clear for future readers…

ALL HARD DRIVES are "formattable" to Windows, Mac, Unix or whatever.

That is why all operating systems (and even X-Boxes) have a format command built into them.

  • Thoughts on Ssd? Should i wait for other ones ?

    • +1

They all perform similarly, for day to day usage. If you don't have one already, this will destroy what you're used to. Anything you buy after this will need specific tasks to shine.

(Have bought/used/owned 20+ varieties, read hundreds of reviews, met Wanderlei Silva).

      • Thanks. Always wondered about the differences. Installed my first SSD the other day. A dream! And so quite!

        • You didn't finish your sentence. It's so quite like what?

  • Is there a way of ordering online and picking up instore?

I'm going through checkout and I don't see the option to pick up in store anywhere =/

  • Grabbed the monitor, good price for IPS

  • Went into the MSY store and there was this really rude staff with the name P****

    • Would your comment not be more useful to the community if you at least explained your experience and at what store etc. It's kind of like me saying I walked into a Coles and had a rude checkout operator.. The comment holds no value. (it was the self checkout in my case).

      • He gave me a hard time with a keyboard he sold me. There was a little chip in it when I opened it and he wouldn't replace it. He point at he ACL but didn't know how to read it.
