Free Open Water & Nitrox Training. New Divers. NSW Hunter Region @ Snorkel Safari

110

Just found this awesome deal… Snorkel Safari at Swansea NSW are offering free Open Water and Nitrox Certifications as part of the Government funding currently out there. The only requirement for it being free is that you don't have any existing diving certification.

You may have to buy some gear i.e. Mask, Snorkel and Fins… though I believe the shop provides the rest for training.

Call Jess at the shop if you have any questions.

Link leads to 404 error :-(

    • Sorry… my bad. Fixed.

  • Here's the link https://www.facebook.com/SnorkelSafariSwansea/

Something to note.. This is only for residents of Newcastle and Hunter regions.

  • you must be NSW resident, over 15 and UNEMPLOYED!

    • Not sure if correct. I originally called the store to see if I could do just the Nitrox element. They told me the only requirement was no existing certifications, nothing about being unemployed.

      • My son was interested so I spoke to them, he is still a student so didnt qualify.

        • I was thinking of doing this with my son ( 12 ) as a preparation for snorkelling with Hookas.

    • So 20% of people then?

    • You also need to be live in Hunter and Newcastle region.

  • State and provider in title please.

  • Taking education funds rorting to a whole new level.

At least Divemaster/Instructor qualifications are proper professional courses that may potentially lead to a paying job

  • The only requirement for it being free is that you don't have any existing diving certification.

Spewing, I would have liked to do just the nitrox component too.

Completely agree man. I called the store about this and got told no sorry.

      • Plus, if they wanted the 'unemployed' thing, I was gonna get a letter from my line manager telling them how lazy I was…that should meet the criteria! :P

  • if only this was down in melb

  • Anyone know how much these courses are normally?

Various depending on the company and if they have sales. I did my Open Water for about $150, though that was a Groupon deal.

Nitro course is around $160 on Groupons.
