Is there any capacity to add a GPU and SSD to this pc?

    • +2

Yes you can add a GPU, however your limited by 250W PSU in it and a low profile video card.

It has an extra sata port and sata power connection, so putting in a ssd should be fine, just not sure where to mount it or leave it hanging?

        So it's the sff case?

        • +1

          Yes its a SFF

      • SSDs work fine hanging from their SATA cables or blu-tacked to the case or whatever.

        • +2

You animal! I normally just attach it to one side of the 3.5" bay using the normal mounting screws.

    • If it's a 250W PSU then I wouldn't be adding any discrete GPU to it. Perhaps maybe could be possibly OK if it were a really high quality unit, but it won't be. Realistically you need 450W+ for a discrete GPU.

      • +3

Well, plenty of the low-profile cards you'd need to fit in this case are low power too.

e.g.: GTX 750 ti comes in a version that uses less than 50 watts and works fine in systems using tiny 160W PSUs.

As long as buyers are ready to do some homework, they can find cards that will work. They may cost a little more, but it should sometimes be a small enough markup to make this system a viable bargain.

        • yeah, it claims 250W but who knows what it actually puts out? Personally I wouldn't risk it

$399 Posted with Win 10 (other specs the same, 500GB hdd, 8GB ram)
    Just 3.4GHz vs 3.2GHz CPU (3470 vs 3570)

So rep I think you really could offer free shipping on this.

    • i5 3470 vs 3570 too, though not a huge difference. Plus this, I'm assuming, can be upgraded to Win 10 anyway so it's the best of both worlds.

Sorry I can't offer free shipping at the moment.

intergrated gfx cards are horrendous. always avoid regardless of cost or use.

More than enough for basic web browsing or playback of 1080p content. Even some light gaming…

Why pay for a discrete GPU (and the extra power and heat) when you don't need it? Not everyone plays games on every PC they own.

A HD4000 would handle basic Web Browsing/Youtube, and the occasional CSGO/Dota/LoL match

$10 paying for professional plus marginally better CPU IMO beats the eBay offer. Some businesses prefer W7 and 64 bit professional is attractive. Also option for free pickups.

    • Add to that win 10 is a few update before June or July…

  • I believe you can do a clean install of Windows 10 and activate it using the Win-7 code from the sticker now.
No longer need to muck about with an upgrade install, or trust the seller to provide a clean install.
Just download the ISO from Microsoft.

  • Should I get this or XB One for gaming?

    • ps4 for sure. this only take some weak gpu and cost extra, not worth it

    • You can't use this as a console replacement without doing some research into low-profile low-power GPUs, buying one, and installing it.

Personally that's what I'd do: buy a $200 or so GPU and make all that money back in a couple of years by buying all my games in sales for $20 or less (steam sales, etc).

But you still do lose a little bit of convenience/ease-of-use, and console exclusives (though not so much now that lots of MS exclusives are coming out on Windows Store for PC).

Don't forget multiplayer costs extra on consoles too.
