  • What's the difference between this and a G27 which I have for my PS3?

Does my G27 work in the PS4?

    • -1

G29 has two motors for the feedback vs the g27.

No it doesn't you need some adapter.

      • The adaptor is crap and doesn't give you proper control or FFB, it simply emulates a DS4 controller. Buy this instead of paying $70 for that rubbish.

      • +1

I thought the G27 had two motors too

        • No it doesn't it has one. and as you read the comment above the adapter is rubbish, so buy a G29

          @Unbreakable:

Are you sure? Sorry all the sites I compare at says there isn't much difference apart buttons and a better pedal

Also a lot of sites say the G27 has two motors

        • @Twisty: No idea on the motors but it definitely has Hall sensors whereas the old one did not. It's much newer tech than when the G27 was made.

        • @Where's_That_Cake:

          Thanks
          Now to find one ;(

Doesn't seem to be any on the Gold Coast I bet

The force feedback/motors are the same as the G27. The hall effect steering sensor is viewed as a downgrade by some e.g http://perfectsimracer.com/logitech-g29-vs-g27/ and not a noticeable difference by others http://www.pcpowerplay.com.au/review/logitech-g29-steering-w… (better for maintainability as it's closed and you'll never have to clean it however).

You'll have to pay more for the shifter with the G29 (additional purchase).

As others have said, the G27 isn't compatible with the PS4. Best option is probably to play on PC with your G27. Better sims, cheaper, your wheel will just work, and modding scene is great.

As a G27 owner there is no way I'd waste $200 on this.

  • +1

The G27 does NOT work with the PS4 unfortunately.

    • Ok thanks

      Any other differences ?

      • 29 uses hall effect sensors, it's a better wheel all around though it has had build issues. Still that's what warranty is about and at $200 I'd not worry about that.

        • But still the G29 works on the PS3 right?

        • @Twisty: Yep

  • Question is where to find it?
Will pay the cost if someone willing to get it and post it to me.

    • Doesn't seem to be any around

    • +2

I'd be surprised if anyone posts that they managed to get one. All the DSE stores I have been into over the last week are just empty shelves.

  • 'stores still had stock last weekend'
    which stores?

    • Carlingford Nsw had 1 Macquarie Nsw had 2 on Saturday but priced at 250.

      • Sorry these were g29 that i noted as i have a ps4 cant confirm qtys for xbox

      • but do they have stock today (aka when the deal was posted?)

  • was 2x G29 at murray bridge SA last week

    • Went in just after 9am is morning, all SA stock gone!
      Boooooooo!

  • +1

Don't think any store in Victoria has it.

  • What's the usual price?

    • -1

      250-299

      • Ahh I see thanks!

          Do a quick online search

          $349 pccasegear/online ebay/computer stores

Always $499.95 RRP in retail stores with the occasional sales bringing it down to $300 range (search on ozbargain)

        • @loke:

Wow that means at this price it's a crazy bargain. Might stop by a dick Smith if I happen to be near one!

      • +4

$400-$500 actually. RRP is $499, it has sold for $400 often, $250-$300 rarely.

        • Wow it's pretty much a grab at this price! Thanks!

  • Price match at ebgame??

    • +1

I doubt it, they'll have a rule about clearance/fire sale rather than everyday prices.

  • at this clearance price it costs 50% of the console.. at normal price almost the same .. how many games exactly do you get to "enhance" by purchasing this?

    • i racing
      asetto corsa
      grid
      dirt

      • thanks max .. i'll save my money in that case.. hehe

        • PCars, Driveclub

    • I think you'd probably know if you want this or not…

If you play racing sims it's a necessity. Otherwise…not so much.

  • Got one - been waiting - running the gambit

OP, here is the stock for NSW/ACT: https://imgur.com/a/GG1pU

    • Hi could you check and see if there is any stock in Victoria?
      Thx heaps

      • +3

Sorry I cannot see stock level in other states. Only NSW and ACT.

      • +1

I asked counter staff at Box Hill VIC, and for both the G29 and G920 stock is only available in Bairnsdale (which means a 3hr drive or so far out VIC east)

    • Thanks for posting stock levels.

Unfortunately, this would've been good to know when I looked for them last week, haha. Macquarie told me there was one at Chatswood and 4 at Chullora. None of them answered the phone, so I took the gamble to Chullora and they didn't have any. :(

Oh well, I probably won't get to any store in time before someone takes it.

  • Is there a deal on the shifter as well?

    • +3
      • Does the shifter work on both g29 and g920? Thanks for the screen shot of the stock levels btw.

        • +1

Yes, make sure it's the Driving Force shifter, all the cabling (including shifter) plugs into the underneath of the wheel.

  • Can you play this with rocket league?

Also is it any good on rocket league :D
