  • I think one of the UK side user mention there is additional 1GB SD card in the device. Can you confirm that?
It's not arrived in WA yet.

    • There is no card in my microSD slot. The software does show that it has 1.8GB though.

  • Just got mine this arvo, plugged in via USB, but its not responding. Not powering on at all. It seems to work find plugged into the car lighter tho (turns on and functions). Anyone else getting this problem? Should it be charging via USB? Let me know what u guys had to do… Thanks

    • You would also need to download and install Navigon Fresh software first, then connect your unit via usb and it should work. You would need to go through registration before you would be able to update your maps.
You need to press little button on the top corner of the unit to power it on.
Can't tell if it's charging via usb as there are no obvious indicators.

  • Finally got mine yesterday. But could not figure out where to set the system time. Anyone can help on this? And what is the max size microSD supported by this unit? I may buy one this weekend when go shopping.

    • Why do you need a microSD card in it? What is it for?

      • I guess you will need some space to be able to install other GPS software and media player etc. like someone did in the youtub video. I haven't really got time to play with it, that is just my guess from previous experience with other GPS units.

  • My screen was so uncalibrated, it took me nearly half an hour to display the options menu to calibrate.
It's really annoying it doesn't work out of the box.

    • That's odd. Mine worked out of the box. It was a little unresponsive for the bottom row menu buttons, but once I calibrated the screen, it was fine. Have turned it on, off and also standby a few times without recalibrating and I don't have problems using the bottom row menu buttons like others have reported.

  • Every time I turn it off I need to recalibrate it, which is VERY annoying.
Do you know if I can get a refund?

    • Hi Juicedpixels
I believe from the comments here that the batch of stock that COTD got was a bit faulty. I have somewhat gotten around the problem by using it only in car and not letting the battery run out but I understand that this isn't a long term solution. Have tested the same GPS that my local Harvey Norman store and theirs seem to be fine(even after I secretly resetted the thing :D). Many people here probably have not found out about the problem yet, but if more do, maybe we can get COTD to do something about this.

    • I've found the same issue. Annoying. If you put it into standby (instead of a full shutdown) it saves the calibration, but standby seems to drain the battery pretty quickly so is almost useless. Not looking like so much of a bargain now.

      • I have requested a refund and it seems to have been approved, I am sending it back reply paid.

  • Could someone please post the link to a tutorial showing how to boot up the windows ce and play music/video on it? I spent hours trying to boot it into windows but no luck:/
Also, will I need a mSD card?
    Thanks in advance :]

    • +1

have you find your way around? after some googling, I got this software (legit)~ name M i o p o c k e t~ and from the read me… yes, its better to have a mSD ( oh well, since you need the mSD to store music n stuff~

I havent tried it myself <— no mSD around lol, but will be happy if anyone can tell me if it works with the 1300

      • Thanks for that, I've gotta try that when I get the time.
I used it for navigating to Highpoint the other day (just testing!) and it works pretty well, didn't take long to get the satellites fixed either :)

        • It worked! only with the mSD-installation method though. I bought a micro SDHC card and the GPS doesn't recognize it at all, my friend's 1GB micro SD worked fine.

          Thanks again mikkim4eva :]

  • Got an email saying they've over-sold the unit- no GPS for me.

  • These are now selling at Harvey Norman for $99.95 in store.

  • did anyone got home charger on this navigon? i just open mine today. inside the box only gps, gps holder, usb cable and car charger only.

    • No, it doesn't come with one. But you can use a USB charger from another device if you have one.

  • +1

For those with the screen calibration issue (ie that you have to re-calibrate every time after you've switched it off). I called Navigon and they have asked me to send the unit back to them to be fixed. Apparently they've had a lot of people calling with this problem (all COTD customers!). They won't cover the cost of posting it back to them though (or let me drop it off in person), which I think is pretty poor given it's a known fault. I won't be in a hurry to buy anything from Navigon in the future (or COTD for that matter), not worth the hassle.

  • Hi Guys,

Screen calibration only occurs when the unit has been factory reset. Do not hold down the power button. The device needs to only be put into standby so that it picked up a signal faster. If you shut it down its like factory resetting therefore takes 15mins to pickup a signal. This is not faulty.

If you are unable to get to the calibration screen you can factory reset the unit by holding down the power button

Im sure they just said send it back as they didn't know what you were talking about. That way they can test I suppose.

    • That's not true. If you read the manual, it does a hardware reset only if you hold the button down for >10 seconds. If you hold it down for 6 secs it is meant to just do a power off (ie retain all settings). Refer to the manual, bottom of page 17.

      • Hi mick01, do you have a manual there? I don't have one. There are only a "Quick Installation Guide" and a "Accessories & Online Products" in the package. I thought that was odds with no manual. But obviously you do have one, do you?

  • Understand. I've done it to mine now and its working ok. Unless there is an issue with yours.

The point I am also trying to make is that it should really only be put into standby mode so that it does not take long to pick a signal next time you use it. Try update the software through the Navigon desktop software

    • Do you mean that, with your unit, if you do the 6second shut down it does retain the screen calibration when you switch it back on? Because when I do this with mine it doesn't save the screen calibration. I have to go into the settings and re-calibrate it.

      • Xbox would of gotten the first batch that went out. For the second batch COTD ran out of stock and probably quickly got some dodgy stock from dont know where. Thats why everyone with the second batch is affected. Count yourself extremely lucky xbox

  • Mick01 if you hold it down for approx 6 it shuts down. If you hold it slightly longer it will factory reset the device and ask to re-calibrate.

Thanks Fuzor. Maybe I did get it from the first lot but not sure.

    • hi xbox would you mind telling me if your bottom row buttons work properly after a reset or do you need to recalibrate it as well? Its just that the ones in HN don't have this occurance

  • Hi Fuzor,

Yes they work properly after a reset. Don't need to recalibrate at all

    • Xbox, sounds like yours is working properly. Would you mind posting what version of software is installed on yours. Thanks.

  • I sent back my gps to cotd requesting refund, repair or exchange… 2 weeks later, still sitting around with nothing to show for it. Kind of makes me think COT aren't worth bothering with in the future, especially when most of their "deals" can be got from a regular retailer at little or no change in price. I think this was my last order with them.
