  • love kingdom rush, how does this compare?

    • Considering that both are similar in their ratings and reviews, this should be worth it.

      • worth a shot for 20c.

reading some reviews though it looks like it plays a lot like a puzzle game, you have to figure out which towers to use, when and where. can't say i like how that sounds… kind of like the late levels of pvz2.

        • 50 brain-puzzling missions

Me no brain! Just want destruction!

(Still, I'll give it a try.)

          @morini:

          Hulk smash!

    • Kingdom Rush is CONSIDERABLY better, but this is certainly worth 20cents, maybe even 30 - i enjoyed it for a while.
But just on basic playability level, how you place towers in kingdom rush is so much easier/better/enjoyable than Epic Wars system, too many taps just to place a tower.

Has this ever been promoted by Arnold Schwarzenegger?

    • No.

      • Is that a good thing or a bad thing? 👀

        • a Nothing :)

Not sure how you guys feel about it, but a week ago this game was $0.99, bumped up to $2.99 to make the discount seem more attractive. Price history shown on AppSales app.

  • Looks awesome, thanks OP!

  • Nearly had a heart attack from joy when I saw the picture and thought it was the new DOOM.

    • Unsure exactly what release you're referring to, though maybe its possible to run it on mobile using a PSX emulator etc.

  • Well, I was going to buy, but read the reviews, and a LOT of them are like this:

If it wasn't for the excellent music and the great unit visual design, I would have given the game just 1 star. The gameplay is awfully scripted: you can only win by following exactly what the level designer had planned for you to do. You have to place exactly the correct tower in exactly the correct spot and do exactly the correct upgrade at exactly the correct time or else you stand no chance, and you usually have just enough money to do only the correct thing at the correct time. Absolutely no space allowed for creativity whatsoever, it's just a matter of figuring out what the level designer had in mind, usually through trial and error. This is mainly the result of having a very narrow and strict one-to-one enemy type to counter-tower relationship. A terrible design decision

So, ONE and only ONE solution for each level? That's god aweful, that's not a tower defence game, that's just a guessing game of working out what someone did before you.

    Bah

    • I don't know about having only one solution, but the solutions are a bit limited and lacking in fun. The models/sprites look good but their animation doesn't.

  • Anyone got any other good Tower Defense game recommendations?

    • +1

The Kingdom Rush series are nicely polished, don't need a fancy phone either. Origins is their latest one and better of the three.

      Anomaly isn't bad either.

    • Another recommendation is Radiant Defense.

    • Best one was Defense Technica….but it was never updated for later android phones. I love TD games where you control paths.
