  • Thats a damn long post title!

For those who are wondering what the differences are with the other Unifi deal (Pro version), it's listed here

  • Awesome wireless systems. I use one at home and I used them at a K-12 School who was low on funds.

They features vs price are worth it.

    • What model do you have? Would pro be overkill for a 3 bedroom 2 storey double brick house or would this model be ok?

      • I'd say either would work just fine for that kind of application.

      • I have the UniFi AP Pro for Wireless N… around 4 years old.

I had installed thirty of the AP's in a low income school I was working in when I was given the impossible task of setting up a campus wild wireless for $5,000.

While I didn't get prefect coverage it worked well.

During test phase I took one of the AP's home and worked on it. I was amazed at the bandwidth I could handle (3 notebooks all streaming HD Content without issue and even copying large quality of files around).

Once the NBN is rolled out to me I am going to invest in a Ubiquiti POE Switch and a few AP's to give myself some amazing coverage.

  • Do these come with the power injector?

    • -1

Yep, they are retail pack, so POE injector is included in the box.

  • Would 2 lite better than 1 pro? As getting two lite is about same price as 1 pro.

    • That's difficult one to answer without knowing the coverage area required. If you have a very large area then 2 will probably be better, otherwise you might find you only need 1. Check if you need the extra features of the pro too.

    • If 1 pro is fine reception wise, 1 lite will do the job as well. Pro doesn't include POE injector, lite does.

      • I bought a Unifi AC Pro last week from MyITHub and it had a POE adapter in the standard retail packaging. Aus C5 power lead too.

        • There seems to be different versions available

        • @liquid metal:

I think I saw somewhere that maybe the bulk packs (x3 or x5, I forget which) don't have POE adapters in them so maybe some suppliers are splitting those to get an extra bit of profit. If this is the case I can vouch for myITHub being one of the good guys - full retail packaging and POE as I said.

    • Depends on what you mean by better. 2 Lites could possibly cover more area depending on your layout (like if you wanted to cover an oblong rather than a circle), but it is slower on both N and AC should your clients be able to keep up with the speeds of the Pro.

Also Ubiquiti discontinued their old outdoor AC APs when they moved to this new line and the new AC Pro is the only outdoor model they now do, if that is any concern.

  • Hi rep, can you do a deal for 3 units?

    • Hey mate, send through an email with your delivery postcode to [email protected] and I'll see what I can do. If you can pay by bank transfer/direct deposit that will help too.

  • Can you mount is vertically? When is this dealing expired?

  • You can get them from the Ubiquiti warehouse (http://ubwh.com.au)

    They come in two variants.

    1 pack = http://ubwh.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=364
    $111 ex GST

    5 pack = http://freenet-warehouse.com.au/store/product_info.php?produ…
    $476 ex GST

    • $111 ex GST

      Min. order $2000 ex GST

      $476 ex GST

      Min. order 2x 5-packs

      • WOW… sorry. They never used to have that limit.

Way to cut out the small shoppers.

        • no worries mate.. they have had that price break for some time now.. i've bought 10+ Ubiquiti products for work from them thus far and have always tried to group my purchases to get that 20% off discount..
