$40 Unlimited 4GB Mobile Plan w/Dodo: Free Alcatel Idol 3 5.5 with 24 Month Contract

90

I've been looking around mobile plans recently and this one came to my eye. It's pretty rare to find a $40 unlimited plan which includes a handset, also 4 GB data. If you are looking for a handset or don't mind the 24 month contract this could be a winner.

There are probably better plans for $40 but this may suit you as they don't include a phone.

Don't know how good of a deal this is considering Optus and Vodafone had 10gb and unlimited for $40 12m sim only
    Currently 7gb
Unless you're really chasing an alcatel

As far as Alcatel's go this is at least their flagship model (or was a year ago), 1080p 5.5" screen, thin body, solid construction and the laggy software on release apparently had a lot of bug fixes. Might even get Android 6.0.

Also the key word is "had", Vodafone is now $50 for 10gb and you still need to shell out for a phone. It'd cost you $250 for a phone like this, so you're really paying $30 a month for 4GB (assuming you're fine with the phone), not a bad deal.

My only real problem is Dodo, had enough of their dodgy practices back in the day to steer well clear.

Sorry two years contact is just 18 months too long.

40 bux for 4gb of data is just not good enuff.

    • Most providers out in the wild charge $10 per GB of excess data. Some people seem to be fine with that, and you're saying $40 for 4GB with unlimited domestic inclusions is "not good enough"?

So what would be "good enough" for a 4GB plan with unlimited domestic inclusions and a free handset? Genuine question.

      • Amaysim 40bux gets u 7gb unlim calls no contract.

        • But that's a SIM only plan. Good for those who don't have a phone; this deal would be suitable for those who are in the market for a new phone.

Telstra Freedom Plus Prepaid $40 is currently better value and gives you $40 Google Play Credit (or $18/mth after REBATR cashback).

  • What network is Dodo on? Cos the phone doesn't have band 28 according to the gsmarena link.

  • wonder if Dodo discount this if you're already an existing customer for adsl /power / gas / insurance?

nice specced phone, pity it only has 1 SIM slot (main reason I bought my motorola, needed 2nd SIM slot for work SIM).
