A2 Full Cream Milk Powder 1kg $11.50 at Woolworths Town Hall (Sydney)

60

Not sure how/if things have changed for Daigou with the recent announcements

Saw the tourist buses pull up around the area and they normally head to Chemist Warehouse on Pitt Street followed by Woolies at Town Hall to clear out the shelves. They were still doing it so, I am unsure if the changes are merely for mailing and/or tourist "consumption" as well.

In any case, this is on sale and I have not seen them on sale previously. By my understanding there is no limit with regards to the amount of bags you can buy as it isn't "baby" powder but for general consumption.

Is it me or is there a weird smell near the counters at the front of the store?

I was there two days ago and you're definitely not the only one

  • Buy it quickly before it all goes overseas!

    • Great idea, go buy a tonne and store in your garage in case out of stock.

  • Be quick or all else those chinesey tourists buy it all!

  • Why buy this when you can get fresh milk?

Tourists buying these makes perfect sense as they can enjoy good quality milk when they are home..

You need milk powder to make fresh bread at home.

No you don't. There are lots of bread recipes that don't require milk powder.

        • The bread I've made daily required 2 teaspoon of milk powder. It's not a must to add milk powder, you can use fresh milk or water, but it won't taste as good.

Some sour dough and fruity bread don't need milk.

Milk is a softening agent and slightly fluffyfying agent for some bread recipes - called enriching.
I find I never need it for making crusty or chewy bread but useful for things like sweet breads (ie easter hot x buns) or really soft breads (ie if you want a soft sandwich loaf instead of a crusty loaf)

and i would think that 99%+ of real sourdough don't use milk (as sourdough baker, never seen one with milk)

but with your comment, might try experimenting a bit with milk powder in some rolls and see what happens :)

I don't understand how tourists make sense and others don't?

    • That's very ideally thought, but in the reality, they buy it for profit.

  • Nation wide sale?

A2M 30% + return on investment at years end

    • Wishful thinking if your referring to more growth in 2016.
A speculative stock trading on a PE ttm of ~174 with Chinese regulators trying to crack down on imports.

    • So you recommend giving A2M a go?

It's funny because my wife who is Chinese had her friends from China nag her to buy just add water pan cake mix. Buy here for $3 she bought it for $20 because she didn't think it was worth her time for a small profit. Sheesh the Chinese sure don't care about the price as long as it's Austrralian made then again she married a husband who is a millionaire (in usd not yen)

Was that some kind of round about way to humble brag and say you're a millionaire?

      • Not me, my wife friend is one though

    • Centrelink, If ur truly millionaire, u should be reported to Centrelink

      • I wasn't talking about myself . I was saying that the girl was able to spend $20 for a pancake mix because she is a millionaire. Gotta love ozbargain getting angry at people who spend money though.

    • We're so impressed… Tell us other things about you: who did you fight in high school? How high was the tallest tree you climbed?

Very lame that you went to the trouble of highlighting your financial position, and clarified currency.

      • What? Why would I refer to myself am from a third person point of view.

    • I accept I am jealous unlike the others above. Nice to know you are a Sugar Daddy

      • I'm not a millionaire. I've must of worded it wrong because its the person's husband who is one. Sorry to disappoint ya alls.

    • Broden? Is that you? 😜🤔
