Which one is better dc45 or dc58 ?

    • -1

      DC45

      • I guess so, but I can't see the $299 at Masters or Bing Lee. Bing Lee has it for $349

  • +3

There is a new V8 Animal being released soon (http://www.cnet.com/au/products/dyson-v8/). Chances are v6 will drop further once that happens.

$650 to $784 AUD and that's only converting US/UK Prices where they have a bigger market and purchase power.

Then add 10% GST, import and shipping costs plus the usual premium because we are in Australia etc.

Your looking at somewhere between $800 - $1000 for the new models

      • Yep.. Probably not worth the massive premium for the newer models. I'm very keen to get one at this price.

Thanks for posting the link james2k.

No V6 Aminal has been sub 400 before and sub 410 several times

    • +1

Yeah I got v6 animal for 395 after 20% off and cashrewards at bing Lee a while back.

  • can anyone confirm that DC58 = V6?

    • +1

Yes without the stick and floor attachment

    • Yes, that is correct, just older v6 generation.

  • Just curious I have a DC37C, any chance the Stick pipe are interchangeable with the DC58?

    • -1

The v6's have a different diameter pipe to the other ones (That's without me bothering to google those two models)

    • No, they are not, connections may be similar but won't fit due to thickness and material difference.

  • Is there a big difference between the 58 and the v6?

    • +1

V6 comes with stick attachment. You cannot order a stick for the dc58 from dyson. Not sure what the alternatives are..

      • Cheers

      • The DC 58 is the dc59 without the stick. There's hardly any performance diff between the v6 and dc59. Yeah I always think it such a shame that you can't get a stick separately.

        • I had the dc59 and upgraded to the v6 and I think it is a significantly better machine. Quieter and more power on the head. The fluffy attachment is also great for hardwood floors but not a necessarily why the machine was better.

      • Go onto the dyson webpage and under the spare parts section for the DC59 animal you can get the stick and powerhead for under $200 to make your DC58 a DC59 animal

    • Hell yes. We have the older animal and I bought a v6 and it works so much better. It's almost comparable to the barrel dyson.

      • The DC58 / 59 both have the V6 motor..

  • Just ordered one DC58.

Can you get the stick attachment for dc58?

    • No, it's strictly handheld. Apparently some people purchased the DC59 wand for their DC58 (outside the wand, are practically identical), but it did not work as some of the electrical connections are different.

  • Been thinking about buying the v6 for ages but could never justify the price, not even when it had dropped to $539. Was considering the DC45 as consolation but this 15% off pushed me over the edge!! Can't wait to try out my v6!!!

    • So did you buy the v6 or dc58?

      • I bought the v6 animal. Best buy ever. We have two dogs and two cats, no human kids, and the vacuum I was using used to take me 1 hour because it was really cumbersome and I had to go over one spot many many times. The v6 picked up all the fur with a once-over. Once over!!! All the reviews about how good it is? All true. I can do the whole 3br house now in one charge (<20 minutes). I also like the way the head swivels around the scratch posts on our cat tower. Far easier than my bag less vacuum cleaner. And I didn't bother to switch to the crevice head! I did have to stop twice during the 20 minutes to empty the bin though, but I got so much satisfaction from seeing what the v6 picked up I didn't mind at all! :)

Bought the Dyson V6 animal off eBay as detailed in this post and my PayPal account charge was altered to remove the discount. I authorised a payment of $468 after the additional 15% off but the PayPal charge adjusted back to $539 after checking my PayPal account be aware of this not sure what happened but they did credit me back the full amount without offering to honour the discount

    • PayPal shows up as $539 as masters gets the full amount and its ebay that gives you the discount. In your funding source for paypal, CC for example, you will only be charged $468.

I was worried that they haven't applied the discount, as my paypal showed an invoice for $539. Then I called masters who put me onto ebay, who explained to me the process. So my credit card has been charged the correct amount of $468.

  • Just about to pick one up.. Should i buy from binglee 279 or masters for 268 (Before 15%). Is there a difference other than price? (Warranty etc.)

      masters :)

same model and 2 years warranty from Dyson
