Good price from a not so good company like DWI.

Last year deal from Telstra much cheaper, right?

  • $316 at Kogan ebay with 15% off code, COOLING15.

That's not a classic model, but cheaper version.

        aah, didn't notice that.

Just ordered the classic one. Thanks OP.

  • Can you activate this without an android phone?

  • any good deals on this watch? how can i missed last Telstra sell!!!!

    • Not im aware of. $350 approx cost for one atm. Keeping an eye out for a deal myself!

      • I assume that's the price for the grey stock ones? I've seen few $400 ones, but have not seen $350 (maybe I was not looking hard enough).

Anyways, judging how they'd likely announce newer model on September, I am hoping for a price reduction (though depending on how 3rd one comes out, I might go for 3rd one).

        • That's right. All the cheaper ones are grey stock. IMO the Value Basket deal aint bad for $358 (Classic) and it comes with 2yr local warranty.

Gearfit 2 is rumoured to be released this year. Havent heard about the S3 though.

Read this just today, if interested.

          2yr local warranty

just spoke with their customer support over the phone and they said they don't have any repair centres in Melbourne and that if there's any problem, the watch will have to be shipped to them in Hong Kong. I am not sure why they list "local warranty" on their site.

        • @cd ski au: The rumours I've heard of it are very speculative at best. There was one rumour that was saying that Samsung will release a premium version for Gear S3 (like the one with de GRISOGONO for S2) and there was one rumour that was suggesting that Samsung will use SoC specifically developed for smartwatches.

Anyways, it's likely that they will anounce a new model this year September. It is slightly speculative as the rumour doesn't specify date, rather vague "later this year", but given how Samsung released S2 on MWC, it's likely to be on September if it is later this year.

Though, as this is a simple rumour and as these things are very speculative, I wouldn't bet my money on it.

        • @sridhar:There you go! So it's not very different from other sites who sell Grey imports. Perhaps EOFY sales may reduce it in price!

        • @Oversimplified: Agree. It's all speculation and hype. Samsung have the opportunity to go from good to great.

Don't know if i can wait until september. Will watch for a better deal like the previous Telstra one and grab one then!

        • @cd ski au: I reckon September announcement or at least, some "teasers" on Gear S3 is very likely.

I am thinking of waiting for the new model since I personally think smartwatch industry is at its infancy where generational differences are large enough to wait for one. Few things here and there suggest improvements that I'd want to see. I am thinking of getting Miband with the screen that would be released next month or so til Gear S3 comes out, at least that's my plan.

  • If you are going for this model for being compatiable with normal watch bands, adaptors for Gear S2 (for the non-classic model) have come on 20th April in few places. Not sure whether they will release one in Australia though.

This is priced $599 at Telstra shop! I understand local stock and all but geez, it's almost priced double.

  • This S2 classic watch has very bad reviews.

I received mine the other day and it is fantastic.

      • Is it Made in Korea?

        • +1

          No. Vietnam.

        • Thanks for being honest! I won't buy it then.
