  • I use getflix, and it's been great. However, very recently I've been unable to play US Netflix content. Turns out it's Netflix geoblocking me. So this is just a warning to others that it might not work as well anymore. I still use getflix for hulu though without any problems.

If anyone knows any plans by getflix to somehow bypass the geoblocking, I'm all ears though.

Have you tried the TEST regions?

I unsubscribed when this happened to me and before the TEST servers were working properly.

    • My netflix stopped working also, getflix gave me these instructions to get it working again.

As tantryl said, change to one of the test regions here.
Then if it still doesn't work you need to block some IP's in your router, it sounds hard but it wasn't overly difficult in my netgear. The instructions for that are here.

If this doesn't work for you log a ticket with getflix, the support seems really good and they had me working again in about 20 mins.

Support, why? It's clearly indicated on the website how to correct the issue. I've also been tagged, my US Netflix works fine after a tweak.

    • I'm on a 14 day trial and US Netflix is working fine for me!

As above, Getflix is only working on select regions at the moment (UK/US). They've apparently been working on a fix for a few months now.

Do not buy this if planning on using USA NETFLIX the game is over and getflix have been defeated :(

    • I'm still accessing US/UK Netflix just fine with Getflix. There is a workaround in place while they work on a more permanent solution. If you look on their Facebook page they list what you need to do.

    • Still fine for me….

  • I am using Getflix with no problems. I did, about 3 months ago, but followed their guide and been up and running for the last month or so without a glitch.

I got fed up with it not working. Yes i tried and used the TEST servers, then a few days later they would stop working, then a few days later it would start working.

The most annoying thing is i would spend 20 minutes trawling through the list to pick some thing to watch only to find when you have finally decided upon a movie, clicking play then…..Error. Then going to getflix turning it off, exiting netlfix on playstation then re-opening. It got a bit tedious. I hate to say it but netlfix adding geoblocking has worked with me, and looks like im stuck with boring Australian Netflix.

P.S And yes, i added the static routes

  • So my experience has been some what different.

I used getflix for a while now and my account was recently one of the so called "tagged" accounts. Basically accessing US Netflix was no issue, but when you played a video it would come up with the geo blocking error. The odd thing was, I never did anything about it, kept all the settings the same (as I didn't watch Netflix all that much) and some days it would work without an issue and some days it would come up with the error. Anyway one day I decided to change the US server - didn't think it would do much, and it didn't, one day it would be fine and another day it would have issues.
Anyway since then I've left all my settings the same still, and touch wood but since they introduced the test servers (which I haven't changed to) I've had 0 issues with the geo blocking thing. Been working fine on all my different systems (ps4, wd, fetch tv box) with the old settings.

Also just as a side note, they've actually fixed the issue if you watch Netflix through your computer, you don't need to run on test servers or anything, the Normal servers work fine. I know many people wouldn't use their computers to watch it, but I'm sure there are a few like my old man who have a huge monitor and has the comfy set up etc.

    • You could mirror or cast to your TV from your computer.

      • Yeh that's true, didn't think of that

  • In the list of available channels/services, Netflix isn't there. IF you google getflix netflix it comes up as being in their channels but isn't actually there. Wonder if their not committing to the support of it.

  • Or you can use dns4me.net with an FB like & coupon "lovewp" it's around $22/yr (Oz based).
I use it with Netflix canada (I have a canadian netflix a/c as it's ~$9/mth) and haven't been blocked.

it also works beautfully with livestream.tv to watch nrl (livestream app -> chromecast)

If you're just after Netflix US, I wouldn't sign up to a 2yr deal.

    • Can you confirm that Livestream will Chromecast to your TV. What are you streaming from? I have getflix and stream the footy on Livestream. However, when I try Chromecast it just keeps loading over and over…tried phone and PC. Getting better results with a HDMI laptop.

      • yeah android tablet or phone with livestream app -> chromecast (not screen mirroring).
But I also block 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 on the router which sorts lots of chromecast issues :-)

        you using getflix or dns4me?

        • GF. Cheers mate will check it out.
