It does seem a genuine free version (not trial) from the link. You have to share via facebook to get it. Not willing to do this myself to test. Don't want to inflict advertising on friends :)
avg has always been free, and it has always been about the worst AV you can get…. even free its not worth using…
Learn the difference between AVG Antivirus FREE and AVG Internet Security. Two totally different programs. AVG free is a cut down version of their Antivirus product and this here is the full Internet Security suite.
AVG Internet Security is not really free. It's a paid program and currently $69.99 per year on the AVG store.
It's just that they're giving away a 6 month 'trial' version here.
i have never known anyone who has had to pay for it in its existence. sure they "claim" it has a value…… and maybe some people have even actually wasted money on it…. but usually you can get it for free at any time
Where can you get AVG Internet Security for free at any time?. Not counting this limited time 6 month trial giveaway here and not counting AVG Antivirus FREE because this has nothing to do with that.
I think you're really confusing AVG Antivirus FREE for AVG Internet Security (which you can only get through a limited days trial or paying up money for a full 12 month or 2 year license).

After that 'trial' is over you're expected to cough up money for a license or you just can't use it any further.
It's only AVG Antivirus FREE that you can get for free at any time.
So don't mistake AVG Antivirus FREE for AVG Internet Security as this is the full Internet Security suite here not some basic cut down version of their Antivirus program.

Should be safe. I think those popups only appear on the free Antivirus.
Where's the serial? It doesn't supply one, thus they're not giving anything away.
For me it says "Your AVG Internet Security trial has already expired". This appears to be the regular AVG trial.
Doesn't install for me.
