  • ROFL. That is HORIZONTAL, not vertical.

Interesting how many different brands this sealer is sold as, all misleadingly named as "vertical".

    • +1

The machine stands vertically as opposed to others that take up more space horizontally, people like me with small spaces to live in need this feature. I do concede that the slot is horizontally positioned. Pray tell how would one with a vertical slot even work efficently with anything liquid. No one would make it and profit. So what is your point, or were you just being one of THOSE people.

      • Pray tell how would one with a vertical slot even work efficently with anything liquid

Well, it takes just a tiny bit of thought and you'll work it out.

Consider this: How do you fill a bag with liquid, then seal it in this machine? As soon as you lie the bag down on the counter top to poke the open end into the slot, what happens?

With a horizontal sealer (like this one), the bag lies horizontally. The seal is made by squeezing from the top and bottom. While the bag is being sealed, any liquid can flow out (since it is lying on it's side).

With a vertical sealer, the bag remains vertical. The seal is made from the sides -> || <- which means that liquids, powders and granular materials are held safely within the bag by gravity.

No one would make it and profit.

Almost all commercial vacuum sealers are vertical, since it works better. The product naturally falls to the bottom of the bag, which means that the vacuum only needs to remove air that is in the loose part of the bag at the top. And it's preferable because there's far less spillage!

So what is your point, or were you just being one of THOSE people.

The fact that the body of the machine is upright, round, curved, flat or whatever is only an aesthetic consideration. The term "vertical sealer" means something completely different.

So, I'm one of those people who believes that products should be described properly, so it's not misleading to consumers.

  • That is still horizontal, just seals from the top. Vertical would perpendicular wouldn't it. So are you saying holding the bag upright to seal makes it vertical, because it seems you meant the slot was vertical and that just makes no sense at all. And there are so many people who complain for complainings sake here. THose are those people, nothing constructive just random negativity.
