aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand a Trico Force Beam Blade is ……………………………?

    • TRICO Force® is a robustly engineered high wind beam blade with a patented swept-wing spoiler that slices through wind speeds in excess of 135 MPH (220 KPH) caused by cross winds, buffeting truck winds and general traffic turbulence.

So it's for a Gilette Mach 3 then eh?

    • +1

basically, they copied bosch's aerotwin/aerofit design.
haven't tried these in particular but have tried tridon's before. it was crap.

      • Did you find the Tridon copy made a lot of noise and skipped accross the glass as well?

  • +1

I'd pay a bit more and get the Aerotwin if you can be bothered to wait.

    • How much more? Aren't these the equivalent to the Aero Twin and not the Aero Fit?

      • +1

Probably $5 each depending on where you sourcing them from and size.

  • how to tell if it fits a corolla 2005?

    • Check your Corolla blades length

      This one is

      lengths from 380mm to 700mm (15" to 28").

      • +1

The price is not $19.99, it's 50% off (from $19.99).

      Refers us to this page:

      https://www.wiperbladesusa.com/wiper-size/toyota/corolla/200…
      2005 TOYOTA COROLLA WIPERS:
      Driver Pass. Attach
      24 in. 18 in. 9mm Hook, 9x4 Hook

But it's really easy. The staff at Repco are very knowledgeable to let you know if the Trico Force deal will suit your vehicle.

      • i know about the size but it's whether or not it can actually attach is the question. seems like it will work though thanks (Y)

        • That page specifically mentions Trico Force so my educated guess is yes it will work. But Repco staff will be able to tell you with certainty.

          @twocsies:

yep i checked with the aussie version :)

  • in plain (or plainer) english, are they the wiper blade refill? if they are, i do need them for my car. need one 16" and the other 24". question is if they are compatible with my car? does only length matter?

    • +1

They are blade not refills. You should be able to find your sizes in store. To check if they are compatible, check the connection type. I believe japanese cars usually have the hook connection.
My wife told me the girth matters too.q

  • another question, is this a good brand? the rrp is certainly not cheap for only ONE blade.

    • Yeah but its once off item. Get a good blade, buy refills for the future.

      • so the blades do not come with refills (the rubber things)? the guy in the mechanic shop said the front "wipers" need to be changed. i think he meant the "refills", right?

        • +2

As long as the blades are in good repair, you should be able to change the front wipers by installing refills. This page outlines whether you need to replace the blades or just the rubber inserts:

        • @twocsies: thanks for making it clear for me. i guess i could just buy a pair of refills to save money. i will check out the store tomorrow.

  • Expiry Date 22nd May.

  • You may not be able to buy refills for these.
I had a set of the Bosch Aero Twin, a similar style product, and these were not refillable.

  • I bought a 16" and 24" set for $43 from repco. Great blades and decent reviews on Amazon. They come with an accessory pack to pretty much fit any vehicle. I put them on my Mazda Bt50 and they just clipped on easily (hook style) without the need for using the included adapters.

    • can you buy refill blades for them?

      • +1

Don't think so as the rubber looks alot larger than conventional blades.

  • here is the aussie car checker :)

  • +1

Will this protect me from ganon?

  • So what is the point?
Does anyone have a problem with conventional wipers not working on windy days?
Are these going to increase drag?

    • +1

I think where these blade will shine is when travelling at speed on freeways with hard rain hitting you head on. They have a curved rubber along the end also which help deflects some of the water before it even hits your screen. They have quite a thick and large blade so I guess it would be good also for those that drive up to the snow every year.

    • depends on your car's design. some cars have less drag up front by design so if you don't notice your wipers wobbling around slightly when you're on the freeway, you'd be less inclined to go out and buy one of these.

the front of my car's rather vertical and even when i'm not using the wipers, i can see them wobbling a bit just sitting on my windscreen. i fitted the bosch aerofits and it's a significant improvement. not just for windy/rainy days on the freeway, but the way the wiper is designed (along with its heftier weight), there's more downward pressure on the blade so the entire wiper arm wipes more consistently and thoroughly no matter the curvature of your windscreen. this is invaluable for me, as my car is parked outdoors most of the time and i frequently have to clear bee droppings from my glass (ocd thing ;)

  • why do you need to buy a new set of blade, if the original ones are completely fine (at least by the looks)?

    • you mean just buy refills over and over?

well for one thing, if you or the repco staff fitting your refill don't know what they're doing, you can easily stuff up the wiper blade retaining clip and you'll end up with a wiper that judders.

even if you do fit it right, over time those clips deteriorate, also resulting in juddering and a crappy wipe.

tl;dr don't cheap out on car parts and buy a good quality wiper to begin with (never tried trico brand but bosch are a safe bet)

  • Thanks OP. No more squeaks.

    Bring on the rain. :)
