Good price for the 80D SLK, for people who are not interested in Sony A6300 at similar price.

is this a decent price for the 50mm nifty fifty? been a while since i last looked at lenses, had a 50m f1.4 but it got stolen and havent replaced since. this USM motor version is better than the older nifty fifty, but good enough for the price? tbh, it was a good portrait lens, but not as much a landscape/general carry around and i found it had too much zoom (always needing to step back) sometimes.

spose the + is AU warranty if its needed.

  • I have the STM (from a Ted's sale last year) and the non STM

We use it alot with the kids indoors / / /

    good bang for buck :)

  • Would the d5500 still have the $50 cash back if bought from TGG ebay?

    • Yeah it should.

  • Is the canon 80D from tgg is grey import ? And what's the difference between grey import nd local stock?? Which one is better in terms of quality??

Is the canon 80D from tgg is grey import ?

      Local stock

And what's the difference between grey import nd local stock??

Canon Australia will cover it under warranty. Grey stock you have to send it back to the seller and they then will send it back to HK or wherever it came from.

Which one is better in terms of quality??

      Exactly the same.

        cheers mate :)

  • The 80D has gone up in price… it's now $1,749 ($1,399 after 20% discount).

lame. maybe wait during the after dark sale?

      • +1

Yeah - good idea. Hopefully it's not cheaper than the $1,699 then because I did manage to snag one at the original price! :)

        • +1

          back to $1699 :)

but they did lower the price of the D7200

  • I was very tempted by the 80D this but the extra $40 kills it.

    • back to $1699 :)

  • Update: D7200 is now $940!

    • NEW UPDATE: D7200 is now AU $974.40

    Thanks!

Ordered the 80D to replace my ageing 50D.

1359.2 plus considering TGG issue invoices at full value, I'll get TRS based on that price.

1699-discount-TRS should take it to $1205…

I'll just whack in the 64GB microSD (extreme pro) I got from the last deal into the full-size SD adapter and good to go…

    • +1

Yep - that's exactly what I'm doing (TRS). I'll also sell the kit lens (not sure what it's worth… $100?) to bring the body down that bit further.

Mine arrived yesterday, so pretty fast service. The only downside was I had to ring up and request the tax invoice because they never provided one.

I had a bit of a play around last night. Certainly a massive step up in control and features from my ageing 550D.

    • Update Price: 80D AU $1,375.20

      • yeah they changed the delivery price from $4.08 to $16 -_-

but there are still some stores that have c&c

      • I was able to C&C from Frankston…none of the other Metro MEL stores seem to have any stock.

First impressions…lighter than the 50D, seems well built. Touch screen is very handy, AF is in another world altogether compared to the 50D…I've put in an extreme-pro micro-SD in the full-size SD adaptor into the camera.
