  • Are these sites/coupons ever a real deal?

There's an insane oversuppy of accommodation, and sites beating each other. Some/most already running on low-to-no margin models.

I'd be happy to be wrong.

Yes they are. most of the hotel booking sites are owned by Expedia. They have identical base pricing and then each have different reward schemes, and coupon codes. Cheaptickets often will net you the cheapest price if you can pay USD. Speaking from experience here.

Real deal, just booked a place in Mexico. Cheaper than booking.com, would recommend.

    • I too have just booked a place (with the last deal in Queenstown, NZ). Base price seems to be uniform across all booking sites. After discount, the hotel was approx $300 cheaper than agoda and booking.com (for 4 people)

  • I tried a couple of hotels in LAX, no go for me.

  • I have booked approximately 50 hotel stays over the last 12-18 months through cheaptickets and have invariably found them to come out cheaper, sometimes substantially cheaper.

    • So this is definitely a +vote?
