Good price as they're about $4.39-$7.49 on Aliexpress and Amazon.

While it provides protection against drops, I doubt it's completely protected against the advertised 2m drop. It'll also stop your hard drive from getting scratched and slipping off surfaces.

Great way to make them look like a LaCie Rugged hard drive ;)

I suppose you can bang these good and it won't have any problems.

  • Hoping their Priority Air Mail is worth it, just heard bad things about Banggood shipping times in previous posts, but this is my first order. So fingers crossed

  • would this fit other 2.5 inch hdd (eg. toshiba?)

    • My old Samsung cover vaguely fits my wd elements (a tight fit)
So it might but it'd be very specific to the hard drive you've got

You'd be correct. If the drive decelerates smoothly over 1cm from a 2m drop, it will experience 200G. I doubt the silicone is 1cm thick, so the deceleration will be over a shorter distance, increasing the G-force.

Your HDD may survive if it lands on something soft, like carpet. Or you could be lucky and it could land at an angle that does no damage.
