    Great little vacuum cleaner. I bought one earlier in the year during their 1/2 yearly sale, with a $25 coupon, and that was still $253. Works better than any bagless I've ever used, even Dyson. And, five months on, I still haven't had to change the bag or filter - and they're cheap, at under $20 for a (genuine) box of 4.

  • I'm surprised by the low wattage of this Miele vacuum on Harvey Norman says 700 watts .The standard wattage for similar Miele vacuums is 2200 watts

    • +1

      It is actually 2000w, perhaps like a car it's 700w at the wheels.

      It uses 2000W of electrical energy to produce 700W of sucking power
      By contrast, my crappy Kmart vacuum cleaner produces 200W of suction while using 1800-2000W of electricity.

      • is 700W sucking power good enough?

    Miele Vacuum cleaners are rock solid. I've had mine for almost 10 years, flawless performance. Highly recommended!

    i bought an S4, 12 month ago - $199 from Myer and its been faultless… hands down the best vacuum I've had. For bags just get generic ones from eBay, much better bang for buck.

    • Can you link the bags you get?

        actually i just double checked the cupboard and i didnt get the generic ones… i bought mine from an appliance mob in adelaide - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-X-BOXES-MIELE-GENUINE-GN-HYCLEA…

        however in saying that, these are equally as good i suspect… http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/15-x-MIELE-VACUUM-CLEANER-BAGS-FJ…

          Be aware that the bags are themselves part of the filtration system. If the generic ones aren't as thick, then there'll be fewer layers of filter and the air coming out won't be as clean. If you buy a Miele because it's good at keeping the dust and allergens inside (a selling point for me), you should probably buy the real HyClean bags (from the cheapest source you can find).

          @Elwes:

          Excellent point Elwes - mind you my S4 has separate filters that are included, potentially other models have varying filtration
