  • So where did you see it?

  • +2

    HD resolution at the size

    You are right

People should protest outside OW of this crap. For the price they should be able to do higher resolution.

      • for $288 they should be able to do a higher resolution 32" monitor? You be trolling. i got a 32" 4k south korean cheapy delivered for $750 and that was by far the best deal i could find

  • +3

I like it. It is full-HD, unlike most TVs of this size.

Would suit someone who is a little bit presbyopic, so they can use it without reading glasses (or bifocals).

Am not sure about the price - it seems to be $299 RRP.

    • Unless you have a desk with sufficient depth, staring at these monitors a few hours a day with make your eyesight even worse very soon.

      • Unless you have a desk with sufficient depth, staring at these monitors a few hours a day with make your eyesight even worse very soon

Yep, and the brand and model of the monitor will make absolutely ZERO difference to that problem.

      • +8

Sorry, no evidence that this will affect your eyesight. It's like the old wives tale about reading in lowlight. It may cause transitory issues like eyestrain or headache but there is no generally accepted evidence of any long-term consequences.

I use a 40 inch monitor at 1080p at about 0.6m away and have been for almost a year, and it's absolutely the perfect size and my eyes don't complain whatsoever.

Stop listening to your mother about sitting so close to the TV…

  • do you know what inputs are on this monitor? how many and what types?

Does not seem to have HDMI if I have read that correctly!

How is it possible that a monitor dated 2016 doesnt have hdmi?

        • How is it possible that a monitor dated 2016 doesnt have hdmi?

          Because it's a budget model.

DVI is more than sufficient for 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz - doesn't even need Dual Link. There's no speakers in it either, so no Audio is required.

What benefit would HDMI add to such a device?

        • +1

          Excuses ^^^

The reality is that adding HDMI wouldnt add too much to the RRP anyway…

    • +1

      HDMI,DVI,VGA and a Vesa mount😃

      • -1

It appears there is NO HDMI ports…

        • The one they had at West Burleigh store did have it, and it clearly states on the page that it does.

      • Weird, nocure?

In the description from Philips, it states:

"It is fully future proof as it supports 1080p signals from all sources, including the most recent like Blu-ray…"

        I'd assume Blu-ray would = HDMI?

        What am I missing?

Guess it's a phone call to OW to have a clerk eyeball the thing??

Or, have you done this or seen it with your own eyes?

Philips seems to have two 32" models that look identical to each other but the specifications are quite different. I cannot tell which model Officeworks is selling for $288 as both models are not listed on their website. But by searching at other computer stores I do believe it is the lower end model which is the BDM3201FC/96. MSY is selling this model at $299 and I cannot seem to find anywhere in Australia having the higher end model.

The main difference between the 2 models is listed below.

    BDM3201FC/96 BDM3201FD/75
Response Time (Typ): (Gray to Gray) 6.5ms 3ms
SmartResponse (Typ): (Gray to Gray) 3ms
Signal Input: VGA, DVI-D VGA, DVI-D, HDMI
    Audio (In/Out): - PC Audio-In
    - Headphone Out
    Built-In Speakers: - 5W x 2
    Power - ECO Mode: 22.21 W (Typ) 18.69 W (Typ)
    Power - On Mode: 46.72 W (Typ) 39.43 W (Typ)
    Power - Off Mode: <0.5 W (Typ) <0.3 W (Typ)
Product with Stand: 6.00 kg 6.30 kg
Product without Stand 4.90 kg 5.20 kg
    • I have already said that this model has a HDMI input yet you still went to all that trouble for nothing.

I do believe it is the lower end model

      You are wrong

      • +1

You are correct @nocure. Officeworks just added this monitor onto their website it is the higher end model DBM3201FD then for $288 it is a bargain.

    • MR Bargain - Thanks for the detailed comparison. Whilst Officeworks has the better one, it is useful to know the details for the cheaper one that has such a similar part number but quite different specs.

  • +1

    Definitely has a hdmi port.
It's the model on the right in the post above. The BDM3201FD

  • I got a 32" 4k screen delivered for $750 from south korea last week. 32" is a fantastic size, the dot per inch would be fairly horrendus on a 1080p however. For the price though i say go for it, my 24" 1080p wasnt much less than that

    • Did you find anything similarity sized with a resolution between 1080p and 4k in the research for your monitor?

      • +1

yes there is a crossover 32" 1440p on ebay, cant remember the price but its around $500

  • Anyone confirm whether it has a glossy or matt screen?

    • This 32" is a matt screen.

bought.. havent used yet tho :)

    Thanks, Op.

I used one 32 inch Aldi Medion TV as secondary monitor which stopped working after three years.

I bought one LG ultrawide 29inch as replacement two weeks ago. The 21:9 aspect ratio is great for watching movies but not so great with TV shows. I sold it on Gumtree today for $350 to buy this monitor.

I managed to purchase one from officeworks with discounted gift card. Out of pocket cost is $260.

Quick review. Built-in speakers are good enough for home and office use. Colour is vibrant but the screen has a bit orange tint like iPhone screens do.

No HDMI cable but one extra long VGA cable.

    Great Value! Nice find, Op!

The Kogan Dick Smith $299 4K 40 inch TV may offer more screen real estate. But the input lag really bothers me. Blurry text is another problem when connected with HDMI.

    • Explain regarding discounted gift card please :)

  • I am using my old 2011 macbook pro as a desktop these days in my office - connected to a 21 inch monitor.
Need to upgrade my monitor, would this be any good? (excuse noob-ness)
Dont do any gaming, mostly browsing/streaming and basic work etc. I have one of those massive executive desks (similar to this https://doxz7msmg7sxx.cloudfront.net/media/catalog/product/c… ) and forced to sit far enough from the edge where monitor would sit or mount.

  • IPS-ADS hey?

    • Yup.

I'm hoping my local store has 1 on display (says LIMITED STOCK) i need to see one in person.
With my vision disability, 3 of these in triple display could be a godsend.
      and below $1k!

  • Question, would a cheap 32" TV with similar specs be as good as a standalone Monitor?

    Or less quality?

    • The short answer is no. If you want to find the long answer, reads the article yourself.

  • +1

Just bought this :) going great so far as dual monitor setup.

    thanks OP

  • Well we ordered one of these when they went on sale, finally got it and it has a stuck pixel… How do I go about dealing with this? Are we better off contacting Officeworks or Philips directly?

    • How do I go about dealing with this?

      Start a forum post 😁

  • So I've just noticed another issue with this monitor too.

Occasionally the screen jumps up or down about a couple of pixels and stays that way until it eventually jumps back.

Noticed this running Windows 10, as sometimes it covers the white bar along the bottom of the taskbar icons showing which are active.

Has anyone else here experienced this? I might call them tomorrow and see if its a known issue.

Edit: Here is a photo indicating this. If you're familiar with the Windows 10 taskbar, you can see that at this point it has moved downwards, so that the bar which runs along the bottom of apps which are currently running is no longer visible. It keeps moving up and down at seemingly random intervals.

  • So is this really a monitor? or it is a TV with less connection options????
I just bought one but found out the monitor can be moved up or down or tilted…

This offer seemed to be back in stock. I had just ordered one. Hurry before out of stock again.

Managed to get one from Ringwood VIC store. today.

  • OW Browns plains QLD had one left for $150 (open box)

I wonder why such a good monitor did not get any votes in OzBargain, is it because of the size?

    • +1

Because it got littered with stupid comments from people that can't read.

    • +1

It's because lots of 20/20 vision ozbargainers out there. It's just not good enough. Not even you upvote for this good monitor. 😉

  • Sorry… I do apologise to everyone… sorry…

Snared one from Browns Plains, QLD. Brand new and sealed for $288. I think I might of gotten the last one in the country.
