So about 4 months until a new Nexus.
If the new phones are $600-$800 then I don't want to wait for them and will probably upgrade soon at these prices.

I hope they add a bigger battery for their new 5" flagship. The battery life wasn't great for the 5x, and even worse for the 5.

If this phone had 3000mah like the Xiaomi mi5 does I'd immediately jump on it.

There needs to be more 5" devices, the whole market is saturated with big 5.5" phablets and I'm sick of it.

    • I think Google has learnt from the Nexus 6.

A cheap plastic Nexus 5X 2016 with a Snapdragon 820 will probably be on the table.

Rumour has it that it's being built by HTC, but designed by the former head of Motorola.

Will be more like 6 months before you can hold one.

      Hope they reintroduce wireless charging.

I am tempted to upgrade, but I hate the fact that my current Nexus 4 has one up on this phone.

    +1 for the intuitive formatting.

      Lol thanks!!

  • Bought this from DWI last week and they haven't shipped it yet.
They're still waiting for stock - arriving tomorrow.
Paid $399 for Black with $10 off using "10facebook" making it $389.

    • you must be in the same batch as me, I ordered at the same time and have had about 1 week and a bit of delays…

The price is a little higher though once you factor in paypal fees

      • Yes. Total paid via mastercard is $396 ($7 surcharge)

I am in the same boat. I messaged them asking for compensation and they offered me a $15 voucher and assured they would be sent out Wednesday of this week. I'm currently trying to use this voucher to upgrade to the 32GB as I am regretting ordering the 16GB :(

Code works on the black model too, but it's priced $10 more so ends up being $389.

    Good find OP, thanks.

Good deal, but 3.5% surcharge to pay with paypal??

    • -1

I thought it was against the Terms and Conditions to charge more than what PayPal charges.

  • Could some smart chappy please confirm this phone can utilise all current Optus and Telstra 4G bands? I didn't see anything about specific bands (I.e. Band 28)…is this the international version? Thanks

    • Gets tricky 700 MHz us isn't same as 700mhz band 28

    • This is the correct model for Australia, yes.

  • Got this from eBay discount deal sometimes back - kogan eBay shop for $340. Advertised as without band 700. But got the h791 nonetheless.

So far very happy with performance. I don't mind charging once a day, but then again I don't play games, just browsing.

  • If you are not using data on your phone, do you still get the normal network coverage? For example, if the phone doesn't support a certain 3G or 4G band, you may not get the data speeds but what about calls/texts?

    Sorry a communication noob here.

  • Has anybody who has previously purchased this 5X Nexus model from DWI had issues with the OS software freezing/boot problems?
If so, how were DWI to deal with via warranty?

I purchased Nexus 5X from DWI a couple of weeks ago. No problems with OS software for me.
