your link goes to the 6, not the 6s

  • sorry fixed, mate

  • +3

    That's expensive …

    • +1

Hey bubbleshark, more than happy for you to point me/others in the direction of a cheaper model in au stock

    • +2

"These phones are not sealed (They have been opened and checked)". Doesn't sound new…

      • -2

As long as it comes with the full manufacturing warranty, it does not make any different ($170 price different is more than enough the make up for the "sealed" factor)

        • I don't agree with that. It means its second hand, literally. You don't know what has happened to the phone. That's like the line they use in gumtree when selling second hand phones.

        • Most likely a grey import that's had the charger swapped for an AU plug so only covered by 12 month international warranty by apple, not the 2 year warranty offered to AU stock.

        • @youngchul76: if it is second hand the it woud be illegal to advertised as brand new. This is a store not gumtree.

  • The link doesn't seem to have any stock?

    • there is stock in the two local stores. That's two out of two, so hopefully plenty about elsewhere

      • Are those stores in stock or say limited cause you can't rely on limited stock as actually being in stock at officeworks.

I've put in a few random postcodes for different parts of victoria and I've got everything out of stock plus its unavailable online so even if there is stock it would be really limited and hard to find.

        • Showed up online as no stock in local stores. Called up and they both had stock

        • +1

          @Bellpop:

Maybe you could add to your description that you called up and found stock so that people know.

        • @barghunt1: done. Thanks bud

And still i cant find anyone willing to pay $1050 for my iPhone 6s plus 128gb on gumtree :\

    • +1

Maybe you should lower the price?

      • +5

Looking at this deal and $1100 price tag, i think my price is a real bargain!

    • Wot be ya suburb there, matey?

    • The reason why you can't sell your iphone is because there are already listings for brand new iphone 6s plus 128gb on gumtree for only $950

I thought to myself 'No way this is a deal, I'll easily find a cheaper one on eBay'

Nope. How Apple manages to sell a 2014 phone with outdated specs for more than a 2016 flagship Android phone is beyond me.

    • +3

It's about operating system and software as much as hardware. To be honest, Apple has rarely come out with spectacular specs on the sheet but it's the software and user interaction that keeps drawing people. Which is why I frequently change between Samsung and Apple as I'm impressed with Samsung hardware but I keep coming back to iPhone purely for simplicity.

      • +1

Sure, but you're missing my point. The iPhone is great, and simple and all, but that doesn't mean the price should be absolutely outrageous like this. Simplicity is essentially taking away features and bloat, so there shouldn't be a price premium for less stuff.

        • +2

I agree entirely. I can't explain it myself either. I think many companies have scratched their heads for years to crack it as well. But yeah, price is a bit ridiculous. I do think that once others (will be a matter of time) catch up, Apple will have to come down to compete. Until then, they are the ones who set the price and the consumers choice to buy it or ditch it. Figures currently reflect its clearly the former.

        • @youngchul76: Very well said :)

Even more crazy when you find out their profit margin on this phone was 76.7%

Paid $1129 for this phone brand new week one of release
18 months later and it's $29 cheaper for a second hand version shocking!!!

    • Second hand version? Wut.

      • +2

Don't think office works is selling second hand phones…

        • +1

Sorry my bad I read it in comments above but they were discussing another deal.
Anyway my point still stands this phone went from $1129 to almost $1400 due to Aussie dollar in under 12 months

  • +1

Can price match at Myer and further by using 10% off gift vouchers from agl?

  • +3

You'd be silly to not spend the $129 more and buy a 6S

  • dont buy now. hold your horses and wait for the 7.

  • +4

Got a 6S PLUS for $1174 from Myer exactly one month ago during their weekend 15% iPhone deal. So this isn't the best deal.

    • -4

can you turn back the time mate? exactly.

  • I paid under $1100 for mine (6S Plus 64gb, not a 6 Plus) from OW in Dec 2015 after online price match - 5%…so yeah, not really a deal.
