    not a bargain

  • +1

    Cheaper elsewhere

  • +4

Wait for the custom editions which run cooler and quieter. Should be available in Australia in less than a month.

    • +1

Yeah im trying to see what makes a 'founder' edition worth it when its essentially the first reference card release,

  • +1

No reason to be rushing out and buying these Founders edition cards. Especially when board partners will be releasing their own custom cooled and Oc'd cards later next month.

  • +2

The tax on top of the price is disappointing.

I checked us amazon and saw a feedback as I quote "1.0 out of 5 starsOne Star
By Jacob on May 27, 2016
I was told this card is worth 699 for the founders edition. I'm not paying over 1000 dollars.

      699USD.

  • Not a bargain. Post in the forums to let people know if you must.

  • 400 dollar premium to get it 1month early, crazy

    • I'd bet money even the regular editions one will still be around $1200 at launch.

      • Shouldnt be now that newegg ship to Aus, 950~ish with postage

  • Too cheap, bought 10 thanks op :)

  • Not the cheapest Mwave $1199

Lol how are these prices making all the "wait for new cards" relevant??? yes it performs better but at this price its a rip off

    • They'll drive down the prices of the older generation as the stores clear out stock. Not to mention this is the shittily priced 'Founders Edition' of the more expensive of the two cards, so yeah it's pricey.

  • I thought the 1080 was supposed to be cheaper?

    • +1

      This is the founders edition.

  • great marketing build up, with nice 'leaked' specs.
now its time to cough up.

except those coolers are pretty crap

Lol… 699usd and rip off Australia at 1.2k, no thanks. I'll stick with my 980ti

    • Yeah, I'm feeling very relieved and very happy with my 980ti I bought 6 months ago for $930.

The 1080 will still be a great card and good for those who want to game at 4K but there is no need to upgrade for those running 1080p/1440p.

  • Chances are these OC versions will be cheaper from Amazon while better than the Founder Edition http://www.pcgamer.com/asus-announces-overclocked-rog-strix-…

  • There is a difference between 'new and exciting' and 'bargain'. This may be the former but it can hadly be considered the latter when the early adopter premium is in the order of a few hundred dollars. Cool, sure, better than 980s, but not a bargain. Wait a few months and these should be in the order of $900 even with our poor exchange rate.

  • Regular price.

  • massdrop.com have it for AU $1057 shipped.

    https://www.massdrop.com/buy/msi-gtx-1080-founders-edition

    • How's msi international warranty?

That said I'm still waiting for the non founders and maybe some vendor cooling options.

  • The site is ozbargain. Not ozdisgustingpricegouging.
