This is meant to be a very good blender. Very highly rated by choice.com.au, the highest rated out of 40 testing in their March 2016 roundup. And they list it as $430.

I'm interested to see what cleaning the blades and seals are like on this. We have a nutri ninja auto IQ which we are getting tired of picking out the seal to clean it daily.

  That problem would be pretty restricted to those upside down blenders. This is a regular jug blender.
