dupe. that would be this deal. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/248999

    • Not a dupe if the product isn't in the heading.

oh really. so technically somebody could go through the previous deal and list each one in a number of single different posts?

Seems to clutter everything a bit but I can see where it can be useful sometimes for notable items

not a dupe at all this deal is for the router not the cashback thats just a extra bonus.

even without the cashback it's still like $50 cheaper then elsewhere.

    • …$250 for this router is the deal. The cashback just makes it even better.

You should write "$250 ($230 after cashback)" in the title

Msy price still listed as $299

  • Use this myself. Very nice router.

    Needs more antennas

      • That last one could pass as modern art, hanging in the middle of a room for better reception.

Add in store only to title/post, with maybe information about which store you went to. Sadly isn't available online :(

  • Literally just bought a RT-AC68 from them for $229 on Thursday FML

  • Any good deals for ac53000
Got a big house with multiple routers
Been eying out for a while

    • Better off going for a uniap, far better, the Asus units are great units (ive got one of the 3200's) but my Uniap located in the center of the house just wipes the board of it.

      • thanks for pointing out
with uniap, are you referring to antennas or actual routers
I think I got 2 of the Cisco AP that can have uniap antennaes which may solve the problem
the only thing is that they are commercial grade and health warnings on them deters me from using them

        • Sorry, meant Unifi AP.

Ive got one of the AC pro's and have yet to come across any consumer grade equipment that comes close to it in performance.

        • @Copie: so you reckon better that ac5300 ?

        • @777:

Oh yes hands down. Keep in mind the Unifi AP's are WAP's not routers.

        • @Copie: can you explain what performance you are referring to? i assume just network transfer speeds for files correct? and range i assume? if i dont transfer files, then the consumer ones should still saturate my connection right?

  • I read that the ac68u performs better than the ac3200 in actual real world use.

    Looks like Shadow vessel

  • Does anyone know if I still need a modem for NBN? Getting NBN tech installed next week so keeping an eye out for an upgrade modem and router.

    • Yes you do.

Either a router like in the OP if its FTTP, if its FTTN use whatever your RSP provides for VDSL2

    • I'm with Opticomm (same as nbn really) in a new estate. The install for it cost $500 for them to wire everything up in the garage etc but it did in fact include a modem for in the garage. So yes nbn requires a modem, it may come as a part of installation.
