    Good deal for the stand-alone receiver.

    The second deal is pretty bad as has been around for $250 - $300 over the years.

      Yeah, I bought the 071 a few years ago for $269 from JB. I'm sure it went down as low as $199 from memory. Still going strong and fine for my medium sized loungeroom. No 3D, but that doesn't bother me.

        Yes, I think it was on the Dick Smith clearance though. I've helped set up one of these - it sounded way better then I expected once property calibrated and the receiver has more functionality than most people need. I'd even happily recommend it for $300 against any similarly or even lower priced sound bar, if speaker cables are not an issue.

        Yeh. For an entry level 2ch amp and at this price you'd probably weigh it up against the entry level yamaha AS-210, which sits at a higher price point but also looks of interest.

    The VSX-830 is a pretty good receiver, very good detail and accurate bass. The smart phone app for on the fly settings adjustment is great too.
