    Finally some decent games !

    • -6

      Meh! None of them interest me. I bought NBA2K14 ages ago for $10 and found it was a terribly boring game about sponsors, sitting on the bench and talking to the media lol

      • +2

        Gone Home is quite brilliant - if that's your style of game. If it's not your style… well that's a shame.

        • +1

          It's like one of those VNs where your can't make any choices.

        • +1

          @Agret: So? Why does every game have to be the same? All games sit on a spectrum of interactivity, and Gone Home is on the low end. Fortunately it has an engaging narrative that pulls you though. Unless, of course, it's not your sort of game - which, like I said, is a shame.

        • @johnno07: Gone Home is pretty poor compared to stuff like Until Dawn, Life is Strange, The Walking Dead but I guess compared to some other indie rubbish like Mountain it's not terrible. Like you said the narrative is decent so it has that much going for it. It's not that it's not my kind of game but others do it much better, in TV terms it's like a soap compared to a drama. I can't really criticise it when you are getting it for free though. I recommend everyone at least check it out since you are getting it given to you anyway :)

          [Insert product] is quite brilliant - if that's your style of [Insert category]. If it's not your style… well that's a shame.

        • @Putnum:

          Lets try that…

          Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing is quite brilliant…
          A 5lb bag of sugar free gummy bears is quite brilliant if that's your…

          Maybe not.

      • found it was a terribly boring game about sponsors, sitting on the bench and talking to the media

        You should've bought the DLC that let you rehabilitate an ankle injury & face court on assorted criminal charges…

    • God of War, echochrome and NBA 2k16 are good. Too bad about Gone Home though. Much better indie games they could've thrown in.

    I just yelled "Yusssss!" in my best Marv Albert voice.

    Never played a basketball game on ps4, gonna get my game on Stephen Curry style aye. I'm crap at sports games.

  • Let the finals begin go gsw!!!

    WHAT NBA 2k16 FOR PLAYSTATION PLUS!?!??! This is a $50 game… granted 2k17 will probably come out soon, this is awesome news.

    • +1

      Best decision by 2K. Give them a game no one will buy right now at full price (but would like to play) given its finals time… get people hooked into buying 2K17 when the season starts.

    Finally some decent games

    Now just need some deals on ps+ subscription

    • +6

      If you're on the Aus PS+ then 15 months for the price of 12 here

      • Thanks very much

      • +1

        almost missed that! thx!

      • i think i was on US PS+

        what will happen if i re-join ps+ with aus? i will still lose the access to my previous ps+ "free" games?

        • Yes if you don't pay for subscriptions on both accounts you will lose access to your "free" library.

  • +3

    Damn 2K16?!?!

  • If it's anything like PC, 2k16 takes up 60gb of hdd so prepare.

    • Approx 24gb download. Not sure on install size

    • The download is about 26gig, then after the install the directory is at around 45gig. It's not anywhere near as big as the PC download/install though, as there's no massive high quality texture packs & content to worry about downloading, like the PC version has.

    NBA !!! yess

    2k servers are going to get smashed

    I hope sports games don't become a trend with ps+. I can see sony throwing in fifa 15 in the future. Echochrome is a decent puzzler. I enjoyed it on the psp. Don't know why they didn't include it on the vita free games. Im halfway through gone home on the pc which is a shame for me.
    Siren is the one that appeals to me most this month but i have ylod on my ps3 :(

    • -1

      Looks like I've upset the fifa fanboys

      • I would think you've upset sports game fanboys.

  • +2

    2k16 is a brilliant addition, and I've been meaning to give Gone Home a go since seeing it reviewed positively on Good Game. Wow how long has it been since I've been non-critical of the PS Plus games.

  • NBA 2k16!! thumbs up!

  • NBA2k16 and the 15month deal has sold me..

    forgive the noob question but what are the restrictions with ps plus free games?

    do you get them for good? can you redownload them at any time like if you swap hdd's? or you can only play them while you have an active ps plus account or while theyre free?

    also does the US PSPlus do different free games to AU? is it better to go US?

    yet to signup for psn with the ps4.. my 500GB hdd is also straining just with purchased game installs, so thinking it's time to get a 1tb hybrid or even a 2tb..

    • +2

      You can play any game from psplus as long as u have an active subscription. If your subscription ends you can play all titles when you renew

      Don't forget to log onto ps store on computer every month and add to cart all games and check out otherwise after months up won't be able to play games… This method has been great for me just buying a vita and having a massive library to choose from last 15 months of subscription

      Us and au different just stick with one or the other

      Yes I have issues with storage too… Pretty annoying, I just delete the games I have disk for although I will probably upgrade it soon

    • +6

      I upgraded to a 2TB harddrive a while ago. It's actually a pretty simple process, and the cost of the HD at the time was about $100. I'd recommend every do this, before they have a huge library to back up.

      • +3

        I upgraded mine to a 2TB hard drive (Segate Backup Plus removed from case carefully so I put the 500GB PS4 drive into that case) when I first got my PS4. It sucked having to redownload all my games because they didn't have a USB backup feature at that point. Now that there is one you just need another hard drive to temporarily backup/restore your stuff with. I wonder if the PS4 would take a 4TB drive or if it's too high because i've already used 1.6TB on mine :(

        • +3

          I did the exact same thing. Removed from 2TB external put in ps4 and put 500gb sony drive back in external enclosure. Easy process if anyones thinking of trying

      • I put in a 1TB hybrid in 2014 based on reviews at the time (2014) which showed the improvements in loading times. The solid state was slightly faster but I was happy with the price to performance ratio with the hybrid and as others stated the install was easy as. Just wish I could compare the newer models for noise and cooing. Anyone purchased the original and have had to buy a newer model?

      The games aren't free, they are what you are paying for the "service", for. Also, they are long term rentals, you don't get to keep the game. It's gone the minute you stop paying for the PS+ service.

      You can re-download them and swapping HDD's is no issue, so long as you have an active PS+ account. If you are after some cheap additional storage options, head over to the PC area of Ozbargain and keep an eye out on listings for cheap HDD's/etc… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/cat/computing

      • @infinite

        How many times do you feel it is necessary to make the same repetitive posts highlighting your personal preference for PC gaming?

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/24239/comments

        What is odd is you previously bragged about getting a "bonus" 2gb with a wireless dongle, even though that is also a "paid service":

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/246492#comment-3686630

        Hard to argue getting 6 bonus games a month is not good value without looking like you are obsessively looking for excuses to attack people with different gaming preferences when you previously went into raptures about getting a "bonus" 2gb of data.

      • +2

        Who said they were free? the deal isn't marked freebie it says subscription required

        • Your comment seems out of context. Autolux commented that they were free. I responded directly to his comment.

        • -1

          @infinite:

          It's just as free as the "free. Free!" Multiplayer feature for a paid service you posted in the deal here:

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/186772

          @Firefly:

          That post leads to a game purchase. Have you fallen and hit your head?

        • -1

          @infinite:

          Yes, and you clearly claim in that post that one of the benefits of purchasing the game is "free" multiplayer, although you need to purchase the game to get this "free" service. Have you fallen and hit your head, or just trying to distract from the fact you are applying obvious double standards?

        • -2

          @Firefly:

          Are you not aware that multiplayer in standard PC games are free? With standard PC games, you purchase a game, then play it at no additional cost past that point. Unlike of course with most consoles where you pay an exorbitant price for the game, then have to pay again for access to an advertising portal that grants rentals on old games, that then allows you to play the game online.

        • -1

          @infinite:

          But it is not free by your very own definition - you have to purchase the game first or you cannot play the multiplayer mode. You yourself lovingly detailed the "free" multiplayer as another feature of purchasing the game in your post description. So were you intentionally being misleading in your post to make it seem more appealing or are you intentionally applying very different standards to define what constitutes console bargains on Ozbargains as opposed to PC bargains? And speaking of exhorbitant, what is the price difference between a top of the line PC and keeping it constantly upgraded, and a $400 console, and how many Xbox Live memberships can that buy? Just as a guide, I believe a recent article reported you might manage to build a decent rig for $2000US:

          http://www.pcgamer.com/pc-build-guide-high-end-gaming-pc/

        • -1

          @Firefly: Well to be fair, nothing is free if you have to pay for it.

        • -2

          @infinite:

          But just because something isn't free doesn't mean it is not a bargain. And you yourself stated that one of the benefits of purchasing a PC game is that it has "free" multiplayer which by your definition is false as you still have to purchase the game and the PC to access the multiplayer.

        • +1

          @Firefly:

          you would get 0 xbox live memberships cos you'll be getting psn+ for this game.

  • cant find the game on psn?

    • +1

      Gotta wait until the 7th when the game changeover happens

  • Great to see the rumours were true…some good games released on ps+. What does this mean for next month I wonder????

  • -2

  • 2k16 nice! Can't wait

    DAmnit, why doesn't Xbox have good deals like NBA 2K16 for their Gold members.

  • Not yet available it seems?

    • +1

      Yeah nothing yet. I'm keen to start the NBA2K16 download!

      • Same haha!

  • +1

    The PS+ games are now listed as "free", with the exception of echochrome, which is still $7.55.

    • Echochrome is free now.
