Crompton LED A60 (6W, 480 Lumens) Globes, Twin Pack $8 @ Bunnings Warehouse

160

Can't say I know much about LED globes, but they had these on a pallet at the front of Bunnings (Springvale Vic) when I was there tonight.
They did not appear to be in the normal globes section, but they are listed on the website, so I presume they are at all stores.

These globes are not listed in avtech's detailed LED Globe comparison here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/249050
However, when compared with the list provided, they are the cheapest per globe and hence have one of the best lumens/$ too.

BC Base: https://www.bunnings.com.au/crompton-6w-a60-shape-bc-base-le…
E27 Base: https://www.bunnings.com.au/crompton-6w-a60-shape-e27-base-l…

They are warm white (yellowish) and not overly bright, but should be fine for most rooms.

    Straight out of Crompton

  • whats it translate to in the old bulb system 60W?

    • Nah, more like 40W
Still, a pretty good price. I might grab a few this weekend.
      Thanks Wolfy

  • I've got a 6W Philips LED globe in a standing lamp and for 90% of the time that's more than enough light in a 20 sqm bedroom with 14 foot ceilings.

  • Some Woolworths have Phillip ones for $4-6 yesterday

  • The difference between fluro and Led wattage isnt alot really

    • Works better in systems with older dimmers without buzzing like crazy because there are supposed to be no moving parts unlike a CFL.

And for anyone about to mention it, CFL in a dimmer circuit doesn't cause a fire. lol. Think about what it is doing to the globe.

  • Just correcting my post above - I get a few of these today. They are actually surprisingly bright for 6W - closer to 60W than 40W I'd say. Not as warm as I would like - not really what I'd call warm-white, but they're not cool either; somewhere in the middle.

For $4 per bulb they are great value. I might grab a few more next time I'm in Bunnings if there's any left.

    • I have no way to measure the brightness, but I'd also have suggested they were close to a 60W incandescent.
i got some more too, they're more than adequate for bedroom/bathroom etc.
