Saw that it's been $38.29 before, but $39.92 is still quite a good price.

There's a Sandisk Micro SD 128GB deal as well for this store, going for $59.16.

Have checked the item on ebay. There are 12 reviews - 11 good, 1 poor -
claimed the item got overheat problem.

    • It's an extremely well known problem.

I finally bit and got a 64GB, since there were heat concerns, but it was crazy small, crazy fast, top brand, and USB3 speed. I thought it was greatest tech in 5 years.

Turns out the heat makes the speeds drop off quickly. Speeds are peak, sustainable short term only.

So sure-enough it really is too good to be true.

But still… For the overall package, i think this price is amazing.

      • Very tempting but returned mine for heat reasons…Samsung fit equivalent better for heat…not sure about performance but is usb 3.0 as well.

Personally, I'd definitely pay the extra, go for the Samsung, this time round.

        • Maybe my grammar was a little wonky but Samsung for me has less heat than sandisk so much better…happy with performance too

I asked about this in another post, and yeah, apparently it has heat issues:

  • Not just this, but they don't work in a lot of car mp3 players.

I've tried my one in a Pioneer and Sony deck for both mp3 and video and they don't work. Constant skipping. Apparently this is a very common issue, regardless of how you format the drive. All my other USB drives work in both decks. And its not because of the capacity either, just this brand and model of USB has problems.

    • Really? Interesting. I've used mine for every technerd kind of application, and never had trouble. Done similar with SD/microSD via usb adapter. Desperate times, desperate needs :D

      • in a car playing mp3s?

Everything else, mine works fine with, just not in cars.

        • I just got the 64gb version yesterday and works fine in my car when I tested today. PX Ford Ranger.

    • I have the 150 series prado Kakadu and works perfect but it has to be formatted in fat32 only

  • Just bought the 128GB micro sd! Great AU stock price!! This card is going straight into my new Shield TV! woo… Thanks OP!

  • Heat issues and connection issues on my end. Tends to be unreliable, have to wriggle around if I want it to connect (and yes, have tried on many different laptops/usb ports) and then randomly disconnects. Do not recommend because of concerns of reliability.

Also, have a look at what's on offer at mymemory.co uk some good deals there until the end of Sunday UK time. Shipping to Auz is £1.95 approx $4 AU. Specific offers on USB drives today.(not cheaper for this specific device)

  • Is it just when it's working that it gets hot or does it get hot even when it's just sitting in the usb port doing nothing?

    • While in use. The more it's hammered, the more heat.

Watching 10gb movie on a WDTV, not a problem.

      • Thanks Utopian. I was thinking about using it as a portable backup drive that remains connected the computer all day backing up documents at set intervals (so no major transfers) so that sounds good.

Have had one for about a year now.

Yes it does get hot under heavy workloads, but I haven't experienced any problems with it apart from it being hot to the touch after copying several GB of files across and handing the drive to someone else.

Have used it in the car and connected to my TV to record, and nowadays it sits permanently affixed to my Macbook Pro.

  • Add cashback and it may be even chaeper than before.

  • I bought one of these last year and lost it a month later. I never found it again :(

  • I have this drive. I don't recommend it. It will overheat and disconnect when copying large files. Gets EXTREMELY hot.

  • Still have not received mine from over 2 months ago! No tracking number provided or anything

    This is the original deal
