These are absolutely awesome. I use the 2015 model daily. It supports a Crucial 16GB DIMM (only a single SODIMM slot in the machine), and uses a standard 2.5" SSD, so fairly upgradeable.

  • inspirational.

Does anyone know if Dell Ebay will sent out an Australian tax receipt for TRS purposes? Asked Dell but they don't bother to answer correctly. Searched previous Ozbargain forums as well but can't find a satisfactory answer.

    Thank you.

  • very good deal. anyone know the exact model of this? trying to find the colour accuracy of the screen.
    Thank you.

    • Mine says Inspiron 13-7359 and this article says it shows 88.6% sRGB.

      • I don't think this one is the same, I can't see the 'sharp, diamond-cut, chamfered edges' that the special edition has. Even though I've seen that this CPU should indicate the special edition…

If anyone could confirm this is the special edition I'd jump on it, as it should have a couple more hours of battery life apparently.

        • My understanding is the special edition offered a 1TB HDD or 256GB SSD and a different external finish along with a 5th gen CPU, the rest including the screen should be the same. I could always be wrong though…

      • thank you, yes there's a chance of the same screen

    Nice deal, nevertheless.

  • Does anyone know if the physical appearance of the Inspirion line the same across 3000/5000/7000?

  • 5000/7000 r bulky.

I bought this laptop from the Dell outlet site about a month ago, $879 for the same specs as listed here. It was sold as "refurbished" but it looked absolutely clean to me and when I asked the Dell rep typically what was wrong he said they were mostly returned items or open boxes. They may pop up there again if anybody is willing to wait.

It's a very nice laptop but no real graphics card so gaming is pretty much impossible, but for every day use and photo editing it's a lovely machine.

    • Just ordered same from Dell Outlet, $879

    • Thanks for the tip, I also ordered this model from the Dell Outlet for $879.

  • Where did you find it for $879? You have a link?

    • That is refurbished

  • Yeah I found it, do they make these not 2 in 1 just standard laptop because in the description it doesn't say 2in1 everything else is the same.

    • Pretty confident that the model Dell Inspiron 13 7000 is only in a 2-in-1. You can ask on the chat, I bought one of the i7 ones anyway, not too many left, a lot of i5s.

  • So is the i5 performance compared to the i7 performance a big deal? There is 2 hours extra battery life making it 'up to 8' which seems better for some applications, to me.

    • Not very much different, if you google the two CPUs very small difference for $80 difference (in refurbished model). I think the 2 hours extra is from the 5th gen CPUs (not the 6th). For the 6th the CPUs both are rated the same wattage (15W i think), the i7 is slightly more efficient per Watt.

  • I chat with Dell reps last night, it's for 2 in 1 model. I decided to buy one. Has anyone bought refubs from Dell?

  • On the ebay page reads (Requires 802.11ac router; sold separately.) Is this to boost the wifi signal to meet their claim of 'fast WiFi across an extended range'? Sorry, I'm trying to get my head around all this tech stuff.

Up to 6hrs battery life for the 2 in 1 is not much, is it?
