Pebble Time $99US ($134AU), from Pebble Store, Free Postage (iPhone App Required)

330

I purchased a Pebble time a while ago through the SmartWatch Pro app and found that you could get $50 off. One of the best prices for a Pebble Time yet.

To get the deal:

  1. Download the Smart Watch Pro app for iPhone
  2. Open the app and press the get up to fifty dollars off pebble button.
  3. You then are redirected to the Pebbles Website with the Fifty dollars applied.

The deal does not work with Pebble time Rounds however they are already $50 off. Also Classic Pebble and Pebble Steel get $20 off. Pebble time steel is $50 off through. No android app is available.

You should include in your post that the "Smart Watch" iOS app cost USD3.99

I said iPhone app required in the title. You pay $3.99 for the app and save $50 on the Pebble. Good deal right?

      • +4

        The app is AUD$6.99.

I thought the app was free. Thanks for pointing it out.

    • Why does the app cost money?

      • The app isn't just for the discount, it is also a pebble app that has some nice features.

I expect all these pebble discounts are because of the much smarter pebble time 2 with hr functions built in and a bigger screen.

Having had the time steel for the last six months i think the upgrades will be worth the wait. Just my 2c.

This deal has been around for a while. Posted it on ChoiceCheapies a while back. Never thought to post it on here until I saw the Pebble Time Round discount earlier today.

      • Fair enough. Good deal then. Thanks.

i think the upgrades will be worth the wait.

Worth the wait yes, but worth double the price on what is on offer here? Pebble time 2 will retail at US$199 (A$270).

      • In terms of function and looks yes. The time and time steel are really not that different in function to the original pebble except for the colour screen.

Since the original had the software upgrade to have timeline and unlimited apps its been difficult justifying the time.

The time 2 is quite frankly worth the time and cost due to the improvements.

        • The one big thing for me was the Time Steel gave an extra 3 days of battery life over the Time but other than that, I think you're right in that they are much of a muchness.

    • the wait

      depends how long it is.

  • Would you say the Steel / round is alot more different in upgrade compare to the Pebble time ?

This would be better than a Sony smart watch 2?

    • I have had both. I think the time steel feels and look a little better than the time.
That said, the diffence in aesthetics is not as marked as that for the original pebble and pebble steel.
Ymmv but it depends on how you will use/wear it.
I like the extra weight of the steel. Feels more like a watch than a toy.

I would definitely get the Pebble Time 2, not this one. The first-gen Times will be made obsolete and the app ecosystem focus will be on the newest gen pebbles. They have higher resolution displays and a bigger screen, so it's very likely that some newly developed watch-apps and faces require a higher DPI display to render properly.

If you don't care about new apps, and can live with the basic and pre-existing stuff, go for it.

    • Don't wont to wait a whole year for a new watch though.

      • Well, less than half a year really, but I get the point that you can buy these right now.

  • I want cheaper version of pebble core, I just need 4 to 8 GB storage and then ability to stream to bluetooth headset and maybe normal jack for earphone. No need other fitness features or phone/ smart watch connectivity at all.

    Any suggestion?

Yeah, buy a cheap Lumia or Android and an Armband cover.

  • Probably not related, anyone know where can i try/test/check out the watches in Sydney? Thanks

    • Move, (owned by Dick Smith) used to display them, but now they are gone and with it, all the display stock is sold out.

So no, you can no longer see one in person in a store.

oh Dick Smith, good times, great classic hits.
