220

This is to return favor to the beloved ozbargain community, hope you like it.

Found this deal when I was shopping for another deal yesterday. An even better deal than what I was looking for.

Kit Includes:
DV18DBEL – 18V Brushless impact (hammer) driver drill
WH18DBEL – 18V Brushless impact driver
2 x 2.5Ah Li-ion Batteries
Charger + Carry Case + Site Bag
Overview printed on box: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2EHGrWKcsOrbnRVeXVscGV4X0E…

The brand new box has Clearance Sticker on it, in-store offer only since, exact item is not listed online.

There were 4 boxes in the store I visited, Oakleigh (VIC), and instantly all grabbed when I took mine.

I am unsure if it is available to other stores, and hope you get yours. Cheers

  • Showing as $350 for me - West Gosford, NSW

Website shows $350 for me, too. That's why I mentioned it seems to be in-store clearance.

Edited post to include photo of the clearance sticker.

  • I've called my local store and waiting for them to get back to me on price. Website for me says $350 as well. Gregory hills store.

    • Gregory hills got back to me and scanned up as $350. So perhaps sale is only for certain stores?

  • Pakenham in VIC still has 3 in stock. Box Hill and Knoxfield are out of stock.

  • One off… guy checked for me in their database and there was only one store somewhere inqld that had 1. I guess their database is inaccurate since people are seeing them elsewhere

  • Keysborough - 2 in stock labelled @ 299

$350 in Canberra Masters. seems store specific

  • just called a local store and the salesperson said its coming up as $350 with his scanner

Product codes do not match. Images has code 101650838, link has code 101139917.

    • Already tried Canberra Airport ACT, old lady in grumpy voice "$350"….seems having bad monday

      • +1

did you use the correct code 101650838?

        • What price should it be for that code? If we get told $350 what do we say to get it for $175?

        • +1

@g1: $175 is the correct price for 101650838 and $350 is the correct price for 101139917. Ask the associate to check that the code is correct.

        • @Masters AUS: thanks for that. They (101650838) are shown as $350 on the display. Scan in as $175. About 5-6 left in Canberra airport store

          @Masters AUS:

Thanks Masters Rep for clarifying. I really like you friendly helpful people.

What is the difference between them, besides noticeably an extra bag in 838? (The drills look the same to me.)

          Slightly off topic,

I am also after one of this https://www.masters.com.au/product/900034846/hitachi-3-6v-co…

Any 50% off clearance happening or coming? (Can be in any kit that contain the driver.)

        • +1

@icecream: Hitachi is currently 10% off no plans for 50% sorry
The 2 Hitachi Drill packs include the same drills:
          101139917 is a standard pack
101650838 is a discontinued promotional pack with a bonus bag

    • Bravo for the effort put in!

  • Called st marys. Computer said 6 in Stock. Bloke couldn't find any. Have to use the code ending in 838. That's the clearance line.
One the plus side if you were looking for the 12v drill and driver set for $100 they have stock of those there.

Scored 2 in Cranbourne South, there might be more. Store staff confused it on the shelf for being part of the 10piece combo. Had to insist on them scanning the box before they believed me. Not sure if any more left, didn't want to push the staff any further.

  • Just picked one up at Canberra Airport store.

About 5 left. They are in a display section at the end of the aisle.

They are marked $350 but scan at $175.

Note: comes in a BIG box.

  • Do you really need brushless?

      • You dont need that efficiency unless you build a quadcopter.

    • +1

For me, Yes. I understand everyone is different.

After all, brushless drill is nice to have if there is a good deal and more importantly you're gonna make the best use of it.

You cannot go wrong with it. Remember the store rep confirmed these drills are identical to "another" kit which is selling at $350 right now, missing a bag, too.

For those who managed to purchase a set, you might like to know that (I think) the set qualifies for Hitachi's current Redemption Programme.

    http://www.hitachipowertools.com.au/en/news/38-redemption

For this set (KC18DBEL), you can claim a free Hitachi BSL1825 18V Li-ion 2.5ah Battery (the same one that comes in the combo pack).

    https://www.masters.com.au/product/101140053/hitachi-18v-2-5…

That's an additional $110 worth of value. ;)

    • Thanks, did you have any luck with that?

Worth to mention, in Hitachi Lithium Ion models in USA get lifetime warranty but we Australian only get… 2 years on the Lithium Ion Batteries and Tools for 3 years.

Hitachi Tool Warranty Terms for USA & Canada

      Lifetime Lithium Ion Tool Warranty

The product categories listed below are warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defect in materials and workmanship for a Lifetime from the original purchase date. Lifetime is defined as the serviceable life of the product. This is defined as the period during which all components are available.

      Cordless Lithium Ion Blowers
      Cordless Lithium Ion Circular Saws
      Cordless Lithium Ion Driver Drills
      Cordless Lithium Ion Hammer Drills
      Cordless Lithium Ion Impact Drivers
      Cordless Lithium Ion Impact Wrenches
      Cordless Lithium Ion Jig Saws
      Cordless Lithium Ion Reciprocating Saws

      Unfortunately, no dice.

"Thank you for your recent Redemption Submission.

We cannot finalise your redemption for the follow reason: KC18DBEL(HF) purchased is not part of the redemption promotion."

      • +1

Thanks for the confirmation, rbaggio :)

Ah well, it was worth a try…..

      • +1

Yeah same here, agree worth a try anyway, nothing to lose and a battery to gain!

  • I'm not too sure, hence (I think) ;)

But then again, you might be right. Probably someone here who has gotten a set can test it out!

It's sad that we don't get the lifetime warranty like they do in the US. I think it would have set their products apart from the competition. I've read some rather good reviews on these Hitachi tools, but can't say too much as I'm not exactly tradie-material!

    • I lodged a claim for a try, and it is rejected today (expected that).

HX (6Ah) models are the only eligible items, but they are "giving" 2.5Ah battery away for that. Australian consumers deserve better than that.

  • +1

I can't believe my luck @ Pakenham today after a frustrating day yesterday (went to Carrum Downs only to be told I was 1 hour too late, someone (ahem!) took all 3 of them!!). I believe I got the very last one in VIC!

    • +1

Nicely pick. Hope you enjoy it.

      • Thanks!!

    • Mate did you take both of them at pakenham :) there were the last two in the shop that were both on hold for someone when I dropped by on wed morning.. They said someone has kept them on hold just an hour before..

  • Looks like an identical kit is in their catalog this week for $350.. :(

    • Identical, still available? Even product number is the same?

Is this deal an alternative for you?

      • Was probably the other one, ending in 17.

I try and stay away from generic brand tools, thanks anyway.
