880
CLICK20

A seems like a pretty decent price for a really great phone.

EDIT: Silver one is 64gb for $40 more linked in comments. Still good if you don't need the extra capacity. I get by easily with the 32GB.

Considering 64gb is only $40 more

    • +2

Ah it is too. This is still pretty good for someone who doesn't really want the extra storage.

  • +9

What was the price before the sale?

  • +4

Had really bad experience buying Nexus 6p from kogan last time, they are the worst, never ever again

    • +5

      What happened ?

      • -5

Probably ended up with a sore bottom.

      • +7

Faulty phone on arrival, took them forever to get it replaced (they never did) waited 4 weeks no response and delays for replacement I had to invoke PayPal who stepped in and refunded me they had to force kogan. Nightmare, never again.

Lot of problems with kogan just Google search or read whirlpool

        • That's unfortunate.. I haven't had any issues with my purchases from Kogan.

        • +1

          @jbnz:

Yes it's a hit or miss, bit of a gamble. Some ppl never had problems with kogan but at the same time many many people have nightmare experience with them. Unfortunately I got unlucky

I can say for sure if u end up with something faulty or requires replacement get ready for hell with them.

Always use PayPal to pay to force a refund worse case scenario

        • +1

no problem with mine too. the shipping got delayed by 4 weeks for which they gave away 25$ voucher.

        • @Bargaingeek:

Did you end up having to send it back? How did refund process go down. I just received a dead Nexus 6p which seems to be used. Just wondering cause I payed with PayPal also.

        • @edoggger:

Not surprised at all, kogan just recycles faulty returned units. Well good luck with the return process it can be painful!

Yes I did end up sending it back, what I suggest rather than directly contacting kogan, raise a "return item" via eBay, this will help Ur case as most likely kogan won't refund u or end up delaying refund.

Don't ask for a replacement, insist on a refund.

Kogan will give you a free return post label which u use to return the phone , after which u wait a few days, they will then send u an email confirming they received the returned item. If Kogan does not respond just raise it up with PayPal

Keep in mind if u attempt to email kogan directly and not via ebay, PayPal won't count those emails in Ur case. Always keep ur communications via ebay "return" option or via PayPal transaction dispute. Also keep proof of Ur return post and take photos of the phone in case kogan plays dirty.

They will likely tell u there is a "14 day" returns assessment period, don't believe them this is just a delay tactic so that Ur refund period with PayPal expires. In my case almost 30 days constant delaying until I had to call payPal to force them, apparently they were also feeding PayPal wrong information, they told PayPal they never received my return! too bad for them I had proof with auspost tracking and return label, I even had an email from them saying they received it.

I learned the hard way, just do whatever u can to get a refund avoid them trying to convince u otherwise.

I bought an LG G4 from them last year it stopped working this year.was boot looping contacted kogan they gave me a paid postage tag i sent it back got it replaced under warranty and back to me within 1.5 weeks very good service for my experience.

      • I had the exact same experience, mine started boot looping just 3 weeks ago, same LG G4 phone, all up about 2 weeks from first notifying Kogan to getting a new phone.

This is apparently a common problem with the G4, I just hope I don't have to keep doing it every 6 months.

        • hey guys im in the same boat as u, resent it back to them yest with a post paid label

Did you guys get an option for a full refund? I also dont want the hassle of this again.

        • I think it was only happening to the early international batches

        • @sinishta:
same. please let us know the progress.
i sent mine back too insisting on refund. waiting for their reply.

        • @sinishta: i didnt get an option to refund but didnt really mind. i looked up online about this problem only happened to the early batches.

        • @mrwillc:

          i heard that too

but i also heard 2016 models also getting the bootloop

so i might ask for a refund and get the xiaomi redmi note 3 pro

    • Me too

    • Oh comon guys plz just let me but it

I was never happy with my galaxy s4 from Kogan it had a really shit loud speaker I personally wouldn't buy from them again I want to support Australian business and receive warranty.

    • Above I wrote my terrible experience when I bought Nexus 6p from kogan on the last deal.

    • +8

How is a bad loudspeaker kogans fault? Isn't that a Samsung issue?

      • I am assuming that the loudspeaker wasn't Kogans fault, but the warranty was. Samsung Australia would wipe their hands of that phone and would not warrant anything on it. It would have to be returned to Kogan, and that is their issue here, the whole dealing with Kogan for warranty.

      • I suspect a bad loudspeaker may be kogans fault, what is they buy faulty units or refurbs cheap? At least the percentage of faulty units seems to be significantly higher there.

  • got black one from kogan last deal but the screen pretty dark and yellow. silver one got from optus much better than kogan one. However, it's still a good deal considering paid $200 less.

    • You can use a custom kernel to calibrate screen 😊

  • +2

My one from this deal is arriving tomorrow. I bought it on Wednesday. I'm making do with 16GB Moto X 2014 (really 10.5GB useable), so the 25GB useable in the Nexus is more than enough for me. I'll let you know how it goes.

  • Recently purchased the Nexus 6P 32GB (not from Kogan) Great phone! Besides the camera, I stream pretty much everything else (Spotify, Netflix, Twitch etc) so the 32GB is plenty for size.

    • What do you have against the camera if I may ask?

      • +3

Nothing. He said camera is the only thing that uses lots of local storage.
Of course you can "stream" that too. Set it to automatically upload to the cloud, and delete local copy when flash is full.

        • Oh right. Cheers

        • Spot on!

        • @htrans: raises a good question though - what's your personal experience been like with this phone's camera?

        • +1

@The Rageaholic: TBH I'm pretty impressed! I actually dropped MP in my phones camera from my previous and I haven't noticed any negative differences. Then again, I'm a simpleton camera wise - only use it for work.

        • @htrans: thanks, glad to hear! what phone did you upgrade from?

        • +1

          @The Rageaholic: Samsung note 3

  • Bought this at the weekend. From my understanding grey imports or not the phones still made by huawei with the same controls as the Australian stock.

For someone to get a phone with a dodgy speaker or screen surely that's a production issue more so than kogan ?

I'll just cross my fingers and hope I get a good one but at least using PayPal I can get my money back if it's faulty on arrival.

  • Is warranty actually an issue? I Read that even if you bought your phone from a local retailer, you'd send it away for warranty repairs anyway?

  • +2

so now this phone is more expensive than a few months ago ..although both from the same seller (Kogan)???.. like the saying goes "the world is never enough"..

    check it out " https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/239989 "

    • AUD down down down

      • actually aud has been going up up up

        • 23rd of March it was 1:5.84, now it's 1:5.73, not exactly going up. (AUD:HKD)

        • -4

@clse945111: if you're comparing exchange rate, you should do it this way

HKD:USD:AUD most of the import export commodity if not all, via USD. therefore check it out if it was really the factor.

    • I wish I had bought this phone then but I wasn't looking at the time. This phone hasn't been on my radar until recently and now I'm pretty keen on it. Only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on this deal is it sort of goes against the grain to spend so much more a couple of months later when you'd think the prices would've fallen not risen (true Ozbargainer spirit).

What do people think - are we likely to get an excellent bargain like that again in a month or two?

      • I reckon the price is definitely falling, however it won't be 20% cheaper than today's retail price(or maybe will be)..therefore, today's price with 20% off their JACKED UP retail is still a bargain regardless, hence my upvote for this bargain.

  • Who has one? Do you recommend it over the LG V10, P9 & Mate 8?

    • -1

I really want to purchase the 6P but im holding off the the revised version coming out soon. It will have 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 820 and VR ready. (I dont care for VR) OR maybe the Oneplus 3? That will be announced next week :)

My current LG nexus 5 has had sticky button issues so I might avoid the V10 and I've never been a fan of HTC. That's my 2 cents.

      • Those specs are rumours. And as for VR ready, this is the only phone currently supporting Google's Daydream VR.

    • Hard to compare against non Nexus handsets.

What do you guys think about this one? Knock off?

    • +4

New seller, 5 phones, absurdly cheap, no description except a cut & paste.
Listed under "Tablets & eBook Readers".

      And you have to ask?

      • yes that's what I thought!

    • Pay with Paypal if you're willing to take the risk, atleast you have the dispute to fall back on.

  • Should I get it from Kogan, or get it overseas?

  • Is this a band 28 anyone?

    • +1

Yes it is the band 28 version.

      • Lovely, thank you

  • +1

The only phone out currently that supports Google's Daydream VR spec.
