  • Its got band 28 doesnt it i.e. 4ghz 700?

    • There are a few 700mhz, hard to know if it's b28.

      • anyone able to confirm this?

        • +2

          Too many variants of 700.. B12 B13 B17 B28 are all 700. Only B28 works here. B12, 13, 17 can work in the US.
Unless Kogan can list out the exact model number, it'd be hard to know.

        • +1

          @clse945111:

from reading this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nexus_6P it looks like there is only two models the US model and a international model and it lists the international model as having B28 support unless I'm reading it wrong?

        • @clse945111: Kogan lists these as the 4G frequencies:

          4G Network (MHz) 700 / 800 / 850 / 900 / 1700/2100 / 1800 / 1900 / 2300 / 2500 / 2600

Checking here, these line up with the "Global model" (except for 2100Mhz only being listed together with 1700Mhz for band 4, and not separately for band 1). The "American model" doesn't have any 800 or 900 Mhz bands. That said I'm not making any guarantees, good luck if you go ahead with it.

      • Oic. the 5x on kogan website doesn't even have 700mhz..

    • +2

Can someone explain this band 28 to me? This is seemingly brought up every time there's a phone deal

I've tried Googling but it only comes up with B28 = 700MHz

      • As far as I know, some of the international variants don't support band 28, or 700Mhz. Telstra's 4GX, which gives you the 50+ mbs, works off band 28. Optus also uses this band. Someone correct me if I am wrong

        • As ozlegacy mentioned above, apparently there are only 2 versions of the Nexus 6P. One is for N. America A1 (H1511) which does NOT have b28 and the other is the A2 (H1512) version for rest of the world which does have B28. see here: http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/worldwide/nexus6p/specif…

However that still doesn't answer the question of which one does Kogan stock? It says on their website, this is a network unlocked international model and may differ from local models. https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/huawei-google-nexus-6p-32gb-bla…

But would they stock a North American version over a rest of World version when based in Asia? Does anyone know?

        • @noblenick:

I guess unless Kogan confirm nobody will know till we get one, but it would be very strange for them to be selling the NA model, also when I bought a Iphone 6 from them last time it was HK model so I think its a very high chance it will be the International model.

        • +1

          Just talking with Kogan now..

This is their response to the question of which model:

"Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm the exact model number of this phone but we can confirm that it's an international model and will work any network. We assure you that the phones being sold on Kogan.com are compatible with Australian networks."

So I would find it VERY hard to believe they would stock US model but no confirmation yet.

        • @noblenick:

Thanks for following up and I agree after hearing that I'd be 99% sure these will be fine which is great!

        • +1

          They also just mentioned this:

So If I were to order it and it was the USA version (H1511) could I get a FULL refund as I need it to be H1512 version?

          Don 03:47:15 pm

Yes, you can if what you will receive an incorrect unit or variant of a phone.

        • @noblenick: That's not very specific.

        • -1

@sylon: exactly. Which is why I didn't purchase one.

        • Those who got the phone, have you tested whether 4G works ok?

  • Damn, that's cheap

  • +1

Why can't the google play store do it this cheap !

    • The same reason why Apple don't ever reduce the prices on their products.

  • I see nexus 5x and 6p dropping prices across the globe…India, china especially..

  • +1

Awesome deal bit the bullet and grabbed one don't forget cashrewards as well

  • I wish the 6P would come in a 5.2" size.

The 6P is a big too big for my hands, just like my current ZenFone 2.

Still contemplating … I could prob' get TRS on it as well since leaving April 19 for JP.

    • no trs with kogan

      • Ah, it's grey.

    • +1

I was worried about the size at first I got used to it very quickly. Love the phone.

      • +1

My hands are really small :(.

        • +4

I bought it … what have I done?

        • +2

@Yanoflies: That was my thought day 1. Day 2 it will start to grow on you. Day 3, you'll wonder how you used that tiny phone before.

    • +1

Really? Mine's not experienced any issues with them at all, and I've had it since launch week.

    • +1

I've had this phone for almost a few months now, had none of these issues as mentioned.

    • +1

Whilst the Bluetooth issues remain mine rarely gets warm for a phone of it's size (name a phone that doesn't), no wireless issues anymore either.

    • +1

Please don't state that as fact until you've had the device in your hands. I've had the device for months, and haven't had a single issue. You can't judge a device from when it first launched, it's had countless updates till now.

    • Thinking of upgrading to 6p from G4, however the feedback & reviews online suggest this phone has issues.

  • +10

    32gb for extra $130. Why u do dis -.-?

  • +2

Been waiting for a white, finally got the 32GB. cheers.

  • +2

Price is LOWERED!! $530 for 32gb aluminium

    • Thanks just noticed that too :)

      • Black still same price :P

EDIT: feeling bad for those who just bought…particularly the ones who bought 3 lol.

        • Hopefully Kogan can refund the difference.

        • +1

@Jase2801: Gonna wait and see if they'll reduce the price of the black one when they refresh stock levels. Like the camera blended in with the body.

        • @Jase2801: Nooooo, I just bought the 32gb last week at the TECHIE ebay sale, for the price that the 64gb is now, they must have increased the price before the last sale, is there any chance they'll refund the difference in my case, has anyone dealt with Kogan before with price changes?

    • Oh no! I just bought for $10 more!!! I don't think Kogan would refund the difference!

  • any suggestions for a case for 6P?

    • +5

I've got Spigen Rugged Armor and Slim Fit. A case is essential for the Nexus 6P, it's just too slippery otherwise.

Rugged Armor I had first, and it's great. Will protect your phone really well without adding too much bulk. It didn't feel like it added too much.

Slim Fit however has become my daily driver, even though at first I thought it wouldn't. It doesn't offer as much protection, but it retains more of the Nexus 6P look and feel.

I bought both from a local ebay seller and they shipped quick at a good price.

      • +1

+1 for the Spigen Rugged Armor. Been using since day one, love the carbon fibre accents!

    • +1

      Rhinoshield crash guard.
      Check it out on YouTube!!

Ordered one from US last week :)

Had spigen cases for my Nexus 5 and GNex, decided to try something new.

    • I have the adopted clear case and quite like it bought from play store, bit pricey

  • What sort of warranty is being offered for this. Is this standard Kogan warranty or google warranty?

    • As far as I know, you only get the famed "Google warranty" buying from the official Google Play store.

    • Google is a retailer in this instance, not the manufacturer. So buying from Kogan your options are going to Kogan for the warranty, or going to Huawei (the manufacturer). That said, because this is a grey import you probably can't go to Huawei so that just leaves Kogan.

  • how does this compare with the 5x, worth the extra 130?

    • +5

Easily worth the extra IMO. Much better performance, better screen, better materials and build quality, better battery life, e-stabilized video.

  • Ah was waiting for this. Couldn't find it during a quick search a couple hours ago. Any views on this vs Note 5?

    • I was looking at both, it really depends if you're a fan of Samsung products. Note 5 is a great product but the Nexus 6P gives you that stock Android experience and it's awesome. You're getting Android as it's intended.

  • +1

I'd love this phone quite simply because you don't have to wait for updates. Other than that I'm happy with my $200 android phone.

  • So torn on whether or not I should get this. Still rocking a LG G2 Pro.

  • OOS.

  • its sold out on ebay!

  • +1

    Silver 32GB still available!

    • 64gb though :/

      • Yep, 64GB still available also.

  • +2

The listing has been updated and is now available again. Price is back to the original $675.23 though.

    • Thanks. Changed it back to the original price. Still a good price.

      • +1

LOL they are messing with us…It's back to 661.

  • +1

    Insane deal op well done

  • +2

Indeed tempting. But with "Kogan" warranty, I am a little bit reluctant. Most phones develop an issue within 1-2 years of their activated life. And by going with what feedback is available on Kogan warranty claims makes me a little bit uncomfortable. I am not sure if you Kogan Hong Kong products are covered under Australian Consumer laws.

  • if only the whites were the same price….

  • Can you unlock the bootloader+root for this model?

    • +1

I like to think all Nexus devices are bootloader-unlockable and rootable, irrespective of model.

  • is this grey (Import)

    oink

  • +1

    Good price for nice phone

  • -1

Warranty terms are a bit dodgy?

How come Mobilecity is able to offer 2 years warranty on the nexus 6p.

  • +1

Grey import vs local stock. That's why you saving around $200 at end of the day.

    • This needs upvoting.

Bought the black one. After salary sacrificed ~$370 - dirt cheap!! Thanks ops.

    • why do u mean you salary sacrified your phone to get $370 ? how does that work would like to know thanks

      • +1

You make a declaration to your employer that your smartphone is required for business use. The GST exclusive amount is deducted pre-tax from your salary & wages meaning more less PAYG deducted from your pay. For most people you are looking at 31.5% + GST saving, but if your like me in the top taz bracket it's 49% plus GST i.e. a saving of 59%. Speak to payroll to see of your elibgle.

        • thanks, i will check with my payroll. this is very interesting. i only earn $85K though so not so rich lol.

        • +1

In this case you wont be claiming the GST in your salary sacrifice as this includes none to begin with.

      • +2

Salary packaging allows you to use your pre-tax income to purchase items. In public benevolent institutes and charities, employees can salary package one laptop/mobile/tablet per year. This is in addition to car leasing, meals-entertainment (recently capped), and non-exempt benefits (capped).

e.g. If I earned $181,000… the final $1000 I earn is being taxed at 45% which would leave me with $550 cash in hand. If I salary package a $1000 iphone, my taxable income would be $180,000. Essentially I have paid $550 for the phone, and the government has paid the other $450.

  • Out of stock once more lol.

  • out of stock :( saw this too late. why dont they ever stock enough on deals

  • +1

    Back in stock aluminium 32gb!!!

  • +1

you're a champ thanks for sharing!

  • -1

black or gold for me. silver no way cuz my friend owns that color

  • Estimated 2weeks for delivery? Is that normal for metro areas from Kogan? (Coming from china warehouse?)

    • yes, from hong kong warehouse to b specific

    • An extra week aparently for the 64gb model

      • And another week on top of that because they use Toll, which will probably involve multiple delivery attempts before you have to pick it up yourself.

        Source: personal experience.

  • restocked on the aluminium
