XtremeGuard 92% off Site Wide (Including Tempered Glass + Wet/Dry Screen Protector + Skins + Headphones)

574
MY92OFF

Just got an email from XtremeGuard. They are originally a competitor to Zagg, however they've branched out to other things (skins, headphones). I've never tried their headphones, but I did get their wet, dry screen protectors as well as their skins. They are decent and as they are 92% off, they are super cheap (almost 1 dollar each). I would probably get the tempered glass (which is usually $2.32 after the discount).

Shipping is 5.86 (slow) or 35+ for fast.

EDIT: Oh also, they also have a Google Cardboard lookalike (79.99 RRP = $6.4)

Cue message regarding "90% off" being their normal price….

    • Well they have 70, 80 and 89% off, but 92% is the highest they do. Plus for a screen protector that is of a decent quality and almost 1 dollar for 2 (front and back); that's decent. Tempered glass is 2.32

      • +4

It just that their "Original Price" are all inflated.

      • +2

and shipping cost kills the deal

  • +2

how the hell is their version of Google Cardboard $80 full price??????

    • +22

It made of "Premium Cardboard" sourced from rare trees. /s

  • So what's the difference between their screen protectors?

    • +1

I find their dry screen protectors gets scratched easily (like normal plastic screen protectors).

They wet screen protectors are similar to zagg, but i had one for the lumia 1520 and it had some yellowing on the edges. But the orange peel effect wasn't as bad as the zagg (it still had some).

Tempered glass is pretty good…gold standard in screen protectors. 2.32 for one.

      • Awesome, tempered glass it is.

  • +5

Should mention you have to purchase 2 or more items.

  • Thanks, just got a screen protector and some earbuds!

  • +1

Thanks, just got a heap of skins! $1.50-2 isn't bad considering the prices of other sites.

  • how good is the packaging they use to ship the tempered glass screen protectors?

(i'm sure a few of us got the Zapals free glass protector and most reported it arriving all cracked up.)

    • +1

Got mine fully in tact when I bought them Last time.

      • suppose i'll take a gamble on it..if not, paypal dispute.

  • Why nobody stock HP spectre x2….

The one that says Tempered Glass.

      • Ok thanks. I thought they were all tempered glass, just different types.

  • Anyone tried the car mounts before? Is it a worthy buy?

    • +1

Not sure abt their mounts, but I did get something that Looks similar…it was..bad. it may be a different quality though.

ANYTHING GOOD FOR SAMSUNG GALAXY S7???????

    • anything good for samsung galaxy s3 ??????
**need to use all lowercase for cheap s3 ;)

      • +1

because S7 has a edge most screen protectors dont work with it

    • +1

      My eyes… My eyes….

  • are their skins any good?

    • I've got one for my surface, decent quality. I'd probably won't get a white one as you can see the dirt over time.

But personally, if you have a metal phone, a sticker makes it feel and look a bit cheaper…

  • Just note that everything on the website is in USD currency.

I went to check out with two items that were priced $10.40 (with discounted) + $5.86 (shipping) = $16.26 USD = $22.70 AUD

Not sure if that's still an Ozbargain or not?

  • All up cost me $12.10 AUD with shipping, bought a skin and screen protector for Samsung galaxy s7.

  • Keep in mind prices are in USD$

edit - oops. hadn't refreshed my page for a while. didn't see the earlier comment

  • Don't get the earbuds btw they're horrible. Screen protectors were decent but for what you pay.

    • Not based on their rrp though.

      • Hence why it's a deal at this price…you don't put deals up for rrp.

As mentioned before, they have different sales and 92pc is the most they have. You can't get zagg and tempered glass quality at these prices. None that I can find.

Plus their tactic is similar to Kathmandu. No one buys at rrp…not ozbargainers anw.

        • Kathmandu is a store with rrps on their own products. They probably hold 60% sales all too often, but at least they're not using the discount to mislead you.

These guys are just resellers with a 99% markyp%. And to get front page on ozbargain with prices at most 10-20% off ebay (when you buy multiples) is a bit crap imho. But, feel free to keep sponsoring them.

        • +1

          @stingostingo:

Ebay tempered glass are usually 10 bucks…cheaper ones (<5) are usually 4+weeks postage, cracked on arrival, poor visibility.

          I don't see why 2.4 is 'a bit crap'

Kathmandu not using their discount to mislead you…lol.

I think most people here are smart enough to look around and find a good bargain. Not all on xtremeguard is a great buy, I agree.

        • @mbck: don't forget to factor in the price of shipping, which kind of negates the special.

  • +4

aren't all these products available on ebay for cheaper anyway?

  • +5

Nothing against OP, but xtremeguard just sells the same lowest quality items as ebay with a 900% mark up and then 90%off + shipping.

    From an old comment

    example:
$59.99 USD (Was $49.99 not long back!)
    http://www.xtremeguard.com/product-p/car-mount-flozu.htm

    $1.42 USD
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Car-Mobile-Phones-GPS-Wind…

And notice the terrible reviews, being one of the cheapest/basic car mounts.

Even after the discount most items are not worth it esp with shipping added

Buying from them just promotes their dodgy tactics

    • +2

too many people upvoting this due to the ignorant attraction to the "92% off" BS :/

    • +1

Some of their products like the skins are alright for $2 if you're buying a few, but everything else is waay overpriced. $99.99 for a wired selfie stick is insane.

  • not cheap at all after you add shipping cost

  • +1

Haha. The $50 touch screen gloves look identical to the ones I got off ebay for $1.50.

Their normal price for a USB 2.0 cable is $35, and an AUX cable is $40.

Tempered glass protector for ipad mini is $140, but on special now for $100. That would cost more than the actual gorilla glass on the display itself.

Sounds like 92% off is the real market value of their products. With such a massive discount coupon, either they are making at least 92% margin on their products, or they're losing tons of money on each sale. Hmm.

Seems these extreme "guard" cases only guard the back of the phone. They don't make cases with a cover for the screen? What happens if you drop it screen side down?

  • Can an expert tell me how to apply a screen protector without dust getting underneath it? Seems the bigger the screen, the bigger the challenge. These protectors are dust magnets. As soon as you peel off the sheet, they are like statically charged, attracting dust. It's very very difficult. Also, difficult to align it 100% straight.

Do you guys peel off the sheet entirely before putting it down (increasing exposure to dust) or peel slightly from one edge and peel the rest off as you attach it to the phone one end at a time?

    • +1

To be safe, I place my protectors on in a bathroom (run the hot water in the sink for a bit to increase the humidity), to prevent dust. Then just use the included microfiber cloth. I usually just peel the whole protector off and then place it on the phone, but haven't tried the other method you described.

Haven't used a plastic protector in a while though, prefer the glass ones.

    • what donnot said.. also, before cleaning and peeling the backing off, line it up on the phone to get an idea where the protector would sit on the screen - ie an even amount of space along each edge and top and bottom. The cutouts need to be lined up too. keep that amount of space in mind because you'll be either putting down one side first (or the top or the bottom) after you peel it off.

Instead of turning on the hot water for a while, you can do it after a hot shower.

never buy from them again. I got the tempered glass from them before, purely rubish.
and I also got 3 phone car mounts from them as well ($79 RRP) and non of them are usable after 2 weeks (i use iphone 6+)
92% is just a trick that they want you to think they are cheap. not worthy

    • Not rubbish. It's adding an additional layer of material to absorb impact energy. If the screen protector has cracked after a fall, it has done its job.
Phones with gorilla glass 3 and above is quite strong. It may not break after a few falls, but cracks may propagate over time. The cheap $5-10 works well imo.

      • Agreed - $11.66(AUD) for 2 x tempered glass screen protectors - Shipped ! = Bargain…

        • +1

Are you meaning Shipped! = Bargain, or Shipped != Bargain?

        • Good pickup - I'm going to use that one.

  • +1

almost AUD$140 for a selfie stick?? they must be dreaming!

    http://www.xtremeguard.com/product-p/ios-selfie-stick.htm

Looks very much like this one that sells for $5.99

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Selfie-Monopod-Extendable-Stick-C…

  • Hmm it seems they don't have temepered glass for my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

I put two items in the cart which qualify for free shipping but then when I try to purchase it wants me to pay $5.87 USD for shipping?! I don't understand.

    • +1

It's an american website so pretty sure the "free shipping" only applies to the US addresses.

Edit: Yep.. only to the US - in the FAQ, it says "International shipping is a flat rate of $5.87 per order."

I have been using glass tempered screen protectors from this mob for over 5 years and it has a prominent place on all my devices/gadgets. I really like their glass protectors and their hi def screen protectors and I would stop at that. The prices on their site are hiked up and if you notice that they have 70% off listed clearly on the site all the time. 92% is the highest they would do on any given day. Bought screen protectors and cheapy glass ones from china before and it arrived broken and seller couldn't give two hoots about re-sending a new one or refund for the damaged item. Being the OZB'r that I am….I chase my $3 via paypal dispute but its a time consuming exercise.

With xtremeguard, recently one of my glass ones came broken as it copped all the damage out of the lot but the rest were intact. I shot off an email to their customer service with a picture of the shattered glass as proof and they sent 1 replacement immediately and another as a spare free of cost and no questions asked. They also have a lifetime replacement warranty on some or most of their protectors and you just pay a small postage cost. In most cases they always throw in a spare without you even asking.

These days I look out for their 90 or 92% off sale and do a bulk order for family/friends/colleagues and we all split the postage costs and any currency conversion fees. So 2 glass protectors and 2 hi def for my phone cost me $8 AUD including shipping plus lifetime warranty. When one peels off or breaks, I put the spare one on and contact them for my free replacement + small postage costs which eventually becomes the spare. Now, you can't do this with Brick and Mortar shops or ebay for that fact. Enough of my rant, I am up voting this deal based on my experiences with them OZB'rs.

I didn't put this deal up as I felt its not worthy if you're ordering 1 or 2 for just yourself as the postage and AUD conversions kills it but thanks to OP who simply did it out of his urge to share and I don't think he deserves the negs nor does he have to defend himself. Thanks.

I have bought tempered glass screen protectors from http://stores.ebay.com.au/temperedglassking/ before , plenty of times for our phones.
Cheaper than the total price on this post, around $3-$4 including shipping and based in Australia so quick post.
nice quality, has all the same qualities as the others.

  • Still not gotten my order anyone else?

  • +1

Just got my order in and they gave me the wrong item.
Asked for a One Finger strap with wallet (cards) and they gave me the original strap.
Quality of strap feels crap and feels like it's made from cheap material.

I don't understand how they can charge 50 USD dollars for this piece of garbage??

  • they gave me the wrong item to dont shop here!

  • I ordered 8 cases/screen protectors through this deal, received the ordered couple of days ago, but they have only sent me 6 out of the 8 items I asked for. Have emailed them about this anomaly but yet to hear anything back. Has anyone else had similar experience before? And what was the resolution?
