And who would wanna go and do something like that? BBLLG (bloody boot loop LG).

    Thanks for the post OP.

On paper, LG phones are everything I'm looking for - removable battery, microSD, IR blaster with learning mode, Qi charging, etc. etc.

Sadly, their build quality doesn't last.

At least with Telstra warranty, their RMA procedure's very straight forward and you're likely to get a replacement handset in 2 business days.

It's not really the boot loop issue, it's the after the fact and sales service that is disappointing.

      • No recall program to fix all affected phones.
      • Refusing to repair phones bought from overseas, directing customers to repair it in the country of purchase.
      • Only repairing if phone still covered under warranty period… like come on, the phone has only been out for about 15 months.

      Disappointing and disgusting company.

        Second that.
I had the blue-screen-death LG G3 within the two year waranty period. I had to pay for postage to send my phone from Melb to Syd for repair.

I am using the LG G4 and the Urbane watch ATM. But I swear that I will not buy LG phones again.

      • Second that. On paper looks good. But my experience has been horrible. The build quality is horrible! Breaks just after warrantee. Everyone has the same issue… I felt it was a rip off. Never again LG!

I though the bootloop issue is for G4 This is the g5

I know, that was an issue with a particular batch of a different product

how much is the phone, it may be $399 more expensive than elsewhere?

  • Whats the price? Missing the most important info!

    • I think it's when you buy it on a plan, I don't think Telstra sell it outright

      • Looks like it. Cheapest is $80/month (actually there is a $79/month, but you would be crazy not to spend the extra dollar to get 1.5gb extra)

Working it all out, I'd definitely be better buying outright.

  • so i purchased a lg g5 on a plan with telstra, to retain my loyality credit of $20 per month, i could only sign up online. but they don't give you a copy of the contract and i can't obtain one. all they send is the critical summary information.
so i can't claim this offer and it is one of the contributing factors to get it after being bitten with an lg g4 on telstra before that had boot loader issue.

Anyone know what i can do?
telstra chat claim the critical summary is my contract, and even after showing them the link and why i needed something else, they said i cant get that because i need to buy one outright and from a store not a contract.
ARGHHHHH but if i go in store my local telstra don't sell outright, such frustration
