      I think above models may not have a build in GPS receiver so they are cheap. But Navman dash cams have build in GPS receiver so they record both video and geo position.

          @dewy: You can turn it off if you are generally speeding. However, if you mostly drive under speed limit, it can really help you in case of an accident.

          @OldSchoolHarry: You can use the video footage to work out your speed quiet easily.
