Welcome to ozbargain. Go familiarise yourself with the posting rules (as when I commented, there weren't any specific deals posted) and check your ego at the door…..

Also remember before you "contribute" we've already got jv here for dumb comments.

      • Wow, this is the quickest I've ever seen anyone join and get sin-binned!

    • That is good

10-20% off Laptops, desktops, all-in-one computers

If that is off their normal prices, it's not very cheap.

    Are there any bargains ???

  • +8

Well they didnt waste any money on creative marketing - "very cheap Thursday" has to be one of the worst sale names I've heard.
    No offence OP

Thank you small business. Thank you government.

  • is the miele c2 vac any good?..will be used on hard floors and the odd rug..

Is this the same one as the godfreys half price sales he has?

    Any suggestions?

    • Not sure what the model is but we have a Miele. No dramas. Much better suction than previous Electrolux.

      Would recommend

  • Looking for a new laptop. Had a quick look over what's available but nothing jumps out to me. Any suggestions? General home use (very light usage as mostly use a tablet) with the very occasional Lightroom/Photoshop usage.

Need budget + screen size preference, though I wouldn't be buying from Hardly Normal.
This is like saying "I need a new car for travelling, any suggestions"

      • Budget around $1200. Screen size 15ish is fine. Ideally something slim/light weight if possible. Good point regarding Harvey Norman prices. Might just hang out for some EOFY sales unless you can suggest something that is a good price now?

    the title should be

Harvey Norman - 'Very Cheap Thursday' One Day Deals: 12% off Old Stock Sony TV's, 10-12% off Old Stock Laptops/Desktops.

these sales are useless for any new stock.

    • Hahaha that is a good one

    • I can't comment on the Laptop/Desktop remark, but the Sony Televisions are only a few months old. 5 of the 6 on sale are the new D series panels.

  • Man I remember HN having 20-50% off laptop sales like 6 years ago. That was a busy day. Raining iTunes cards too

This is quite underwhelming though :(

i remember picking up a toshiba laptop. I had problems with it from day one.
ended up replacing it on warranty a year(?) later. They refunded me full price.

      • Wait. Full price as in you MADE money?

        • sorry. the full price i paid. so i made money on a depreciated asset?

        • @dasher86:

Haha yep that's a positive spin on it.

          Sucks about the issue though.

I had a Mobo fail on a toshi pretty soon after purchase. Toshiba replaced the unit and it lasted 6 years before I dropped it. My next toshi lasted 3 years before I replaced it (just cos I could afford the upgrade when starting work)

So in terms of reliability I think if you don't get a dud unit they last a while.

Granted it's only a case study of 3 units ;)

  • My Sony KDL hx800 i bought for $2200 lasted only 3 years. thats around $733/year.
    just saying.

    • My hx800 is still going strong, though the remote looks a bit shabby

  • Should have bought your Sony from Costco, with a lifetime satisfaction guarantee.

  • Surface book 15% off, normally only 10% off.

    • Just found out Microsoft is doing 15% as well, and plus 4.8% from cashreward, that's 19.8% off.

Harvey Norman - always have a lot ads saying up to 70% sale. But when u r there - only 1 or 2 crap TV units are on sale. Very disappointed with their On Sale ads

  • The Sony TV range they are advertising is all high end stuff, which is outside my budget. Cheapest being nearly $2k and all the way up to $5.7k

I was hoping to get a good deal on a <$1k TV

  • Would someone tell me when harvey norman doesnt have a sale!

  • +1

I guess they might not get many customers if they call it the "Cheaper than our normal rip-off prices Thursday"

    • +1

"Still damn expensive and much higher than the competition because our prices are incredibly inflated ordinarily and we're too busy crying in our Weeties about how tough it is that people can buy overseas for reasonable prices to actually work out that we could move more product if we sold it at a decent price and still make a good profit Thursday" may also not be a huge hit. Then again, "very cheap Thursday" probably isn't working out too well for them either.
