    KFC serving pork????

    • +1

yeah. they launched it couple of days ago. goes for a month i think..

    • +2

..ridiculous. If I go to kfc, it's specifically to eat their chicken. If I walk out with anything else, I've failed.

I love trying different food, but no way am I ever buying this.

      • +1

As much as I hate your attitude, I tend to agree. Years ago, KFC mocked Red Rooster for introducing seafood to their menu: a floundering fast food company displaying its lack of focus by introducing new and unexpected things to their menu – barramundi. There were other examples of this where Red Rooster failed to seriously invest in what they're known for – chicken. And now KFC is doing the same. Unless this is some kind of magical chicken than also produces pork. It seems strange.

        • +1

Although I'd normally agree - this is a great tasting burger, though a little smaller than I expected. Worth $3 though for sure.

      • +1

KFC is doing this for ages in China. You can get traditional Chinese food from KFC in China, like Pork Chop Rice, even 100 year old Egg and Pork Porridge.

        • +3

Damn, they serve 100 year old food in China? China's food authority must be really lacking….

        • +1

          @stevensx:

Also known as Millennium eggs :)

        • @stevensx: Mummified egg, yummy. Food fit for the Pharaoh.

        • Can you get chicken feet at KFC in China?

        • @Martijn: @KFCChina should have added it to the menu!

      • If KFC is selling a ribwich KFC style I'm in if it's anything else count me out.

      • It's been a long time coming. It was obviously a long term plan when they changed their signs from "Kentucky fried chicken" to "KFC"

Kentucky Fried beef burger might be tasty.

    • +13

      KFP

    • +2

      "roof chicken"

    • It tastes like chicken.

    • KFC japan sold shrimp cakes last time I was there (courtesy of the OzB deal).
they also do bento boxes and curry meals with rice.

  • Beat me to it! Not a bad deal for $3

    You have a smart watch.

    • +36

      OzBargain had a deal.

      • OMG I missed that.

      • Apple watch?

      • Hi
Could you tell me what smart watch that is.

        OzBargain had a deal

        Link?

        Edit:ignore bottom post…

        • I was thinking its a pebble watch..

Edit - Okay its definitely a Apple watch

        • Deal was a few months ago and is long over, Kogan had the 42mm Apple Watch for $369

        • -2

@darkage: To keep the OZB spirit up, I have same looking (dif colour) Smart Watch that everybody confuses with $1000 apple watch. It has camera, SD card storage, replaceable battery, & to save BT drain SIM card on $0 'Voda no plans' that I redirect to when my Note 4 is not around. I can also make calls from & listen to FM radio. Charges with ordinary micro USB. All that beauty ~$40 on ebay or $20 with toner order.

        • @taki:

Still better to buy a pebble.

      • +3

You could take a screenshot that saves to your phone. But then then the photo wouldn't be as interesting.

      • +4

Yea, not eating meat, but +1 for the picture.

  • +8

    that's a pretty good photo.

    • +3

Don't mention it was from an iPhone, then people will start complaining.

  • +12

For a review and realistic picture of what this thing looks like, see http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2016/06/taste-test-kfcs-kentuck…
Incredibly, it does not look quite like it does in the advertisement :)

    • +17

      I'm not so hungry anymore…

    • +3

I saw one a couple of days ago and it probably had 2/3 of even that picture. Probably over less than half of the area of the bun, flat. sparsely covered, dry and bland.

    • +3

Thanks - I'd give the deal a positive but the article and pictures make me feel sick.

  • Should be pulled chicken.

    • Why would they slow roast a chook?

    • +9

      Colonel's pulled cock doesn't sound very appetising…

      • Colonel will do it for you at your convenience.

  • +1

Had one the other day. It's about 3 times the size of a dinner roll, about half the size of the size of normal KFC burger and there's only a tiny bit of pulled pork on it, but it does taste good.

    • might be a good alternative to a Maccas Cheeseburger?

  • Hi
Could you tell me what smart watch that is.

    OzBargain had a deal

    Link?

    Edit:See top post…

  • +3

looks and tastes like shit.. worth $3 not worth anymore..

  • I download the KFC Xpress App and try order and show $5.95 for me :(

    • It's under tasty rewards but it maybe subjected to particular KFC

  • sorry, if select the offer it will be $3

  • Why no QLD?

    • Same reason no travel concessions for health care card holders and no daylight saving. Shit state.

    • KFCqld is operated by a different business to many parts of Oz.
      Different deals are sometimes offered.

Collins Foods operates the food service retail outlets Sizzler in Australia and KFC in Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The tastebuds in my eyes are telling me it will taste like a Chinese pork bun.

    • Doubt it as they are steamed/smoked, not like umm slush (Grounded or more solid depending on variant), and other Chinese buns have ingredients like shallots.

Anyway after looking at the life-hacker article it doesn't seem to be worth the $3.

They should have called them mini-sliders then people will see them in proper light.

In addition anyone annoyed by the amount of effort it takes to order from the app.

  • I bought one for lunch the other day, as I'm a fan of them from my travels in the US. It's godawful. Mine was stone cold, not sure if that was an error by the store or how they come. It's overly sweet especially with the sugar buns that KFC use, and it's tiny compared to a normal burger.

  • That's a pretty good watch.

  • +1

hahaha, they cant sell it at 5.95, wont sell at $3 either.

  • How desperate they must be to be flogging pork now

  • +2

Pulled pork? Sounds like a scam

  • I just had one. The sauce was nice but definitely not enough meat in proportion to the bun.

  • +2

    how to use this app?
All KFC stores around me has "Xpress not available" message?

    • Same here.

      • Used to be same for me but last couple of weeks the ones near me have introduced it.

  • not happy. they don't have express kfc on the sunny coast so we cant try the burger for that price

  • My local KFC doesnt even show in the app - Bondi Junction - what gives?

    • There are very few KFC stores in the express app. I work in the Perth CBD and the nearest store to me was about 20kms.

      • All the other sydney stores actually show (like CBD, Randwick etc but the say Xpress isnt available) - BJ doesn't even show on the map though

        • That is odd. Probably an error in the app's programming.

        • Is KFC even there anymore?

Pretty sure they closed that food court down a while back..

  • What I think about fast food chains in pictures:

How comfortable are you with being served advertisements on your watch like this?

Not trolling, it's a legitimate question.

    • +2

I've been meaning to turn watch notifications off for apps like KFC. And on the phone for that matter. All the good deals end up on OzB. Don't really need to see notifications like this on the go.

      • +1

What's annoying is apps like Foodora, right. I turn off notifications in most apps unless I really need them, and I thought I needed Foodora because I want to know if my food is on the way or going to be late. But you know what? Couple days after I ordered my food they still consistently push ads to me on the app.

        (profanity) Foodora.

Now I am turning off notifications unless I'm about to order some food.

  • how much are they usually?

    • +2

      5.95

  • $5 lunch FTW

  • +1

Just had my lunch…. Was really yummy and $3 bargain

  • +2

    From their ad:

Nothing good comes out of rushing…enjoy a bit of slow.

Erm… Last time I checked KFC was a fast food joint o.O

    • KFC is the slowest fast food joint.

  • Saw a comparison of the advertisement burger picture and the real thing today on facebook. I will not be buying one of these. Thank you.

    http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/restaurants-bars/kfc-l…

  • had one today as part of a $12.95 meal, TINY. Not worth anymore then $3

  • Hopefully they do more with Pork. I heard the burger size was small from initial reviews. Hopefully they do this deal again, but put $3 in the front of the notification.

  • No express store in Brisbane that I can find on the app, check Indooroopilly and western suburbs and all in and around the CBD

  • Bought this tonight, was not worth $3.
Hardly any meat, and the coleslaw wasn't great.

  • FWIW, the pork burger was gross that I tried. There was probably about a teaspoon of pork in it at most, too.

  • kfc pigs eat chicken, that's why they sell the pork burger
so you can taste of chicken from pork burger
