      • Sorry, rather spend my money on other OzBargain deals =).

I am confused? Why doesnt someone make something for us to put all the eneloop we own in? as a powerbank that you can put AA batteries i mean? Seems pretty obvious to me

    • +2

They already exist, but they don't get close to the charging speeds of QC power banks.

    • That would require you to charge the batteries constantly. Also assuming that Eneloop are 2000mAh, that would require you to put 6 batteries in to match this.

      • +1

        a lot more than that actually. 2000mAh at 1.2v =/= 2000mAh at 4.2/5v

        • I forgot to factor in the voltage haha.

  • +1

I have 40 eneloops at least and dont care about quick charge. where can i buy one?

    • I haven't seen them since DSE sales.

      • Ah yeh, better than the ebay ones, 1A out of this one.

    • Search ebay for AA emergency and you'll find a 4x AA for under $4.
Don't expect much from it though, and probably only 500ma out of the USB.

  • Wonder how this determines which direction the C port will work. If I plug this c to c in my macbook to charge how do I know that it won't draw? Is there a switch?

    • theres not enough voltage to charge ur macbook, so the current will go the other way

      • hey furythree appreciate your response both don't believe it to be correct. the macbook 12" can charge at 5v 2.4a, below the output rating for this powerbank.

        • you need 14v 2a

        • @furythree: the macbook 12" can charge via usb c at 5v 2.4a albeit slowly.

        • @turkz1: so you can finally charge a laptop with a mobile battery bank? thanks pretty cool

Be warned extremely slow shipping and there were some issues going with geekbuying on other threads. Would avoid.

    • 3-4 weeks is normal from China. EMS shipping is available for faster delivery.

      • enough said on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/249952 with many unhappy customers.

Geekbuying have been one of the better one I have dealt with. Had cancelled my orders multiple time previously and refunded promptly. Package lost during shipping and was also refunded. Can't say the same about gearbest. Everbuying have been good so far too.
The post you link just show how some buyers aren't clever enough to get pass paypal's dodgy practice of trying to get users to use their currency converter (also dodgy practice of forcing bank account as default). Debbie definitely stuffed up in not cancelling an order. She needs to get more english lessons!

  • This question is actually regarding my Xiaomi power bank which has a similar range of ports.

I know that micro usb cables can be used to charge a power bank through its type c port (using a micro-to-type c plug). Does anybody know if the power bank's type c port can be used to charge micro usb devices? If so, what cables or plugs are required?

    • +1

if you are talking about the 10000mah xiaomi with usb type c then no. the type c port is input only.

Your Xiaomi power bank has a Type C port for charging the power bank only, it will not charge anything else.

    Cheaper on eBay.

    • +2

It works out the same, depending on the currency conversion.

Here's the powerbank from the same seller in USD

EDIT: I guess you could make an offer to get it cheaper.

      • Yep definitely currency conversion. Advertised price in this deal is USD. If I don't put AUD based on current exchange rate a power user or mod will.

      • -1

No it doesn't. According to PayPal's currency conversion calculator, $37.99 CAD is $38.72 AUD while $29.99 USD is $39.54 AUD. That other listing is a different price rounded to the closest dollar in USD, which ends up being more when converted to AUD.

I shall organise ourselves to price match ourselves. Thank you for pointing it out.

      • Price match yourself?

        What do you mean,?

      • -2

Maybe you could organise an actual deal instead of making snide comments. It's cheaper (albeit marginally) above and customers have the added bonus of not having to deal with GeekBuying which have appalling customer service.

This isn't a deal, it's simply free advertising and is unfortunately archetypal of what OzBargain is becoming.

        • +2

My point is… that eBay listing is coming from the same place as this deal. I should have done my price researching better.

  • Doesn't support quickcharge input so that the power bank will charge fast too? hmm…Romoss deal last time seems better.

    • Yeah only up to 5V/3A for input with the Type-C and the QC3 is an added bonus compared to the ROMOSS. I'll have a deal on the ROMOSS later on to make up for it.

      • +1

Are you able to beat $17.49US for the Romoss that EverBuying is offering?

        • Interested to know as well.

        • Good question. I'll find out.

  • +3

US$28.39 from aliexpress 7.25% cashback too.

    • Definitely should have done my price research better. Ah well, any sale to Tronsmart benefits GB anyway ;)
