  • Do they make these in neutral or cool white, and are they (generally) dimmer compatible?

6w, you wouldnt want them any dimmer would you, they are about equal to a normal 25w globe.

specs say not dimmable for these.

Bunnings have been trying to sell these for a while.
These are known to cause Digital TV interference. Installing them may result in degraded television & radio reception.

    • interesting, do you have a source for this claim?

Interesting, do you have a source for this claim?

        Google it, it's well known.

      • Can confirm this first hand - 100% true. I returned them to Bunnings after buying the pack ~2 years ago. They interfered with my Digital channels (not all of them, can't remember exactly which ones).

        • Interesting. I am currently having trouble with Ch9 in Melbourne.
May need to try with the lights off.

    • Cheers, I know some other LED lights can emit high rf radiation.

Good to know these are on the list to avoid.

    • i had the same problem too.
only with old transformers from halogen fittings.
bought Philips instead and had no issues at all.

  • I got 4 of these. Already had 2 die within 1 year.

    • Maybe warranty is 3 years? And then you can get replacement for free.

Maybe warranty is 100 years and onsite?

Who wants to return a LED worth a few dollars which was part of a pack that is no longer available and have to argue for a refund of that component of the original pack price!

        • I returned 3 packs of 4 to Masters of their cheapies , the just kept blowing.
          No issue with other brands.

    • And my incandescents are going strong after 20 yrs…

  • For new installation, may be a 4" downlight assembly works better for $10-$15 each. This one would top more than this including the housing and the driver and cables etc.

Going to go against the grain here and say I'm actually quite pleased with these lights. Granted I haven't run them long but they produce ~70% of the light from 1/10th the electricity of a normal GU10 Philips halogen. No issues with TV reception either.
I'm running them in GU10 form. Only complaints are that these are not dimmable and the colour temperature isn't all that warm. Seems to have a favourable review from http://www.ledbenchmark.com/display.php?id=210&name=Click+5W…

    For $1.25/bulb, I can't argue.

      Agreed.

I replaced all of the non-dimmable MR16 bulbs in my apartment with these and 4 GU10's in a standalone fitting, no issues. They also have 2-packs for $3 by the way.

As for brightness, if anything they are a little too bright even at only 5 or 6W. I had to remove two of the GU10's as two are plenty bright enough.

I'm on the lookout for some cheap dimmable MR16's now - best I can find is a set of 10 Philips Master 7W range on eBay for $109 - these are about $19.90 each in Bunnings!

      • Can second this, I have 4 of the 3W version in an Arlec spotlight on rail type fitting and if anything they are also too bright. Haven't had any reception problems that I have noticed
