@Hotkolbas: Ok I stand corrected, thought it didn't have the 2100,2300,2600 bands.

great price. But still cant beat last year X'mas HN + Amex deal (AUD325)

  • Is it worth repairing the screen on my current Galaxy 5 for $240ish? Or is it better to just get one of these new ones? :\

    • +1

      1) Better get a different new phone entirely.
      2) If you must insist on the galaxy S5, for $240 repair might as well get an entirely new phone for 159 dollar more. New case, new innards, new fresh battery (which cost around $100 by itself - for 2+ year phone, I am sure the battery is getting tired)

Thanks for your reply, I was thinking the same as you are but wanted to make sure it was the right thing to do Haha

There are risks with getting screen repairs… It may not be as good as it used to be.

How badly is the screen broken? Is it still usable? Would definitely not consider fixing the screen at that price

  • Direct link to the Amex card offer? Thanks

    • Months old mate. Expired.

I signed up and am debating whether its worth using for this phone..

Wait how is $399 a good deal on a three year old phone? So two months ago when I got a brand new sealed in box S5 on a 4G network for $192 that was a great deal? To be honest I thought that was a bit expensive given the age of the phone…

    • Can you please let me know how you got it for $192?

    • +1

Basically it was via a $8 a month handset fee on a $30 a month plan. I was bitching about having to pay $192 for such an old phone. The plan I went on to no longer seems to exist but there is a $40 a month play that gives everything I got so $2 a month more expensive, unsure if a plan counts as a deal so didn't post it.

        • It was a deal of sorts for ME as the nearest comparable plan was $50 but it was only a deal in that I was already paying $30 a month and I did NEED a new handset. Of course it may not have been deal for someone on a prepaid scenario for example.

Just want to know why buy this old phone and you can get Xiaomi Mi Note Pro 4GB Snapdragon 810 from Aliexpress $275 delivered https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/252716
Sorry for this comment if anyone think it is not appropriate !

  • So I'm looking for a new phone for my wife and have been considering ordering a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) Dual-SIM SM-A5100 (Unlocked, 16GB, Black) from eGlobal. Have never ordered from them but they seem to have a decent rep. Anyone out there have any experience with the A5?

    • Maybe check amazon for reviews but here is a comparison to S5 If that helps :)

      • Thanks for the thought Trent86, but that comparison is for the older A5, not the 2016 updated version. Since the A5 doesn't seem to be available in Australia, I was curious if anyone had ordered one from overseas.

        • Ahh I didn't even think that sorry dude
