http://www.tigerairways.com.au/au/en/index.php Fares from $28 but not really fantastic prices considering it is Tiger. Add the $6 booking fee each segment and 'risk' factor…you can get these priced fares regularly with them.

I completely agree - considering the Tiger risk factor I don't think their prices are such bargains. Besides, Jetstar offers a price beat guarantee on similar flights.
Trust me, I'm supposed to be in Adelaide RIGHT NOW - if Tiger would have not cancelled our flight last minute. The flight was cheap, yes, but considering the money we've lost on paid hotels and wasted taxi trips just to find out they just cancelled the flight… And it's not the first time that this happened with them. But definitely the last, for us at least.

Tip to everyone considering flying with them: google what other's experiences are. Or simply check their on-time performance (last time I checked 81% I believe, meaning approximately 1 out of 5 flights was not leaving on time, or at all I guess.)

You decide for yourself if this bargain is worth the risk. At the end we get what we pay for and some might not mind having their flights cancelled, even though it is very annoying especially on the return trip. It can be an interesting experience though. If you're the adventurous kind of person, I mean, or fond of gambling.

  • yeah, i guess this is misleading ads. this price should be sgd, not aud.

  • The link provided is for Singapore. Correct link has to be: http://www.tigerairways.com/edm/au/index.php
    and prices start from $28.
As about Tiger experience, my friends had their flight from MEL to SYD cancelled at the last moment and had to pay about $150 p/p for Qantas flight. Multiply this amount by 3 (as they are family of 3) and you get a loss of about $360 instead of a bargain. Also they had to write a letter requesting the refund and it took long time to get their money back.

    • Well if you cancel, of course your gonna have a loss instead of a bargain.

      • no bargain. tiger will cost you in the long run

  • I wonder what tiger management thinks about public opinions like on this forum post here… Imagine Jetstar, Virgin or any other airline for that matter would have had $26 flights - I reckon the response would have not been that negative. But perhaps Tiger thinks it's all those mean Aussies who are just "unfair" - has nothing to do with them of course. I wonder if they have any clue just how bad the public's opinion about them is.
