If only this was with Optus, i'll jump on it like a fat kid love cake. Have to stay with Optus to keep my $20 discount.

    +1 for the post.

Am tempted by this. Just spoke to Telstra as I already have home phone and net with them and they refused to budge on their $83 price for an S7. Ridiculous no bundling discount.

    • pretty sure you got 10% off the total bill with 3 or more services under Telstra? Or at least you used to….

      • Not any more. Just got back from talking to Telstra, Vodafone, and Optus all in store at my local shopping centre. None could even come close to matching this deal. Most were between $95 and $105 for around 6gb data.

Vodafone have the same deal for $80 but will give $5 off for 24 months if you're a student. The $80 plan gets 8000 Qantas FF points too.

But this is for the Edge, vodafone offer is for S7 only

What are you on? Gimme sum!

    • Why is he negged? Best laugh all day. Yeah, I should get out more.

  • +1

Hm, may I please ask, where did you get info about "*$300 international calls" ?
    Somehow I can't find it …

    • +6

Ok, found it myself ;-) in the fine print:

Unlimited means you never have to worry about your bill again. Apart from all the unlimited benefits, you'll also get $300 monthly credit for international talk & text - and any unused monthly value and data rolls over to the next month.

    • Is this the best plan for included international calls ?

  • Does Virgin Mobile has a shared plan like Optus by just paying one-off $5?

    • No.

Does the S7 Edge get LTE or only 4G with the Virgin Mobile network?

It doesn't seem like the phone has LTE 2300 (used by Virgin) which means you may not get LTE speeds (but only 4G).

That's only the S7 (not the edge). Also, the $64 plan only comes with 1GB data as opposed to 8 on this plan.

      edit: why am I negged?

      • True, I missed S7 vs edge. :)

  • Oh nice, I applied this before this entry came up. Just a minor note that the 1GB bonus data included in this deal to make it 8GB in total ends on 22 June 2016.

I freaking love my s7 edge. Highly recommended

  • I would love if this was optus. I asked virgin about if there is phone trade up like optus where you pay a one off fee but was told you need to pay the remainder of your contract and phone repayments and then sign up a new plan. For me that is a deal killer.

  • $10 more p/m for the same phone on Woolworths Mobile (Telstra 4G) so which would be better?

    • ww mobile has better network and no bill shock, but not international or rollover

  • To all S7E users hows the battery life? Im using 6s and I don't like the battery life and the long charging time.
What was the lowest/highest SOT you got?

    • depends on your use how long this will last you, but I get around 5-6 hours SOT and I don't throttle down or hold back any of the features. AOD always on, bluetooth connected to my smartwatch all day, 4g always on (and for most of my data consumption) and wifi always scanning. only battery that might come close is the 6/s plus but this would still out run it. lowest i can remember is maybe 3.5 hours SOT after 2 days of standby and keeping the AOD active (consumes ~1% per hr). I've even driven around with this phone on google maps in rural vic for 4+ hours and came back with ~40% that lasted me the remainder of the day. so trust me when i say this; battery won't be an issue whatsoever.

  • If you want the phone outright and not worried about Aust warranty, Becextech have it on sale (dual sim version) for $809 + delivery

  • Its a good deal but not that good.
Buy a sealed s7 edge + vr on gumtree for $950. Signed a 45$ Vodaphone contract with 10g data, unlimited 10 countries international call,$5 a day global roaming, total 2030 but with much better plan.
    I'd sign this if it's Optus as I could watch epl.otherwise I will wait 4 note 7

How did you get 10G on $45 plan?

    • You are missing important part - 2 year warranty on handset is missing while buying from Gumtree. Otherwise good.

      • It's not grey import but local. U still gets local warranty

  • Pretty decent deal. [FYI] I just bit the bullet and signed up for 24 months with Vodafone. (I was already with vodafone for 24 months and it was ending) Through negotiation and getting transferred twice I got their $70 for 6 Gb deal (+1gb free if online I didnt get) down to $65/mo, + a "Chromecase" (Probably just v1). Eligible for VR headset.

Was that for the Samsung Galaxy Edge or just the normal s7?

      • Normal S7 based on their site.

  • I was just talking on the live chat to a virgin mobile rep to see if they would match the woolworths deal (i was 99% sure they wouldnt) and she claimed that virgin had a bunch of new better deals coming out tomorrow. Might be worth waiting a little bit

  • bonus20 is not working anymore.
