HOTSTUFF18
Subject to the restrictions set out in these terms and conditions, the 18% promotion code may be applied to a qualifying stand-alone hotel (not a hotel booking in combination with any other product such as flight + hotel, or flight +hotel + car) booked online with cheaptickets.com between June 20, 2016 12:01AM CT and June 26, 2016 11:59PM CT, for 1 or more nights for travel between June 20, 2016, and December 31, 2016. Qualifying bookings instantly receive 18% off at check-out through the use of the promotion code. Limit one discount per hotel room and one promotion code per itinerary. Exclusions may apply and most major hotel chains are excluded. The promotion code cannot be redeemed against taxes, supplier fees, cancellation or change fees/penalties, administrative fees or other miscellaneous charges, which are the sole responsibility of the customer. Discounts are not redeemable for cash for any reason. Promotion codes are non-transferable, not for resale, and cannot be combined with other offers or used for any booking previously made. • Thanks has anyone had any experience in price matching with hotels.com and if the currency is in USD or any other currency being a issue?

    • never knew hotels.com matchpriced..

  • excellent timing. thanks for posting.

  • booked the other week when it was only 17% off.
I used 28 degrees, went through okay as i received confirmation from the hotel directly.

Cheaptickets almost always has a 16-20% promo code running, they just change the code each week.
Annoyingly you used to be able to apply the code at the start of your search and it would tell you if a hotel was eligible for the code but now they make you go to book the room before attempting the code which makes it a bit tedious.
Edit, also when comparing make sure you go all the way to reserve the room because cheap tickets puts some taxes on the price that aren't included in the overnight cost that appeared in your search, so sometimes they look cheaper than rival companies until you see the taxes.

    • Never applies to the big chains or their sub-brands either.

  • I can't even find where to enter the code to check the price… Am I blind? I select the room hit Reserve and then it wants my details and credit card with a "Complete Booking" button. No Promo code field.

    • Needs to be through a non mobile browser for it to work.

It's in the payment area "add promo code"

Unfortunately the promo code drop box doesn't appear for some hotels, and then other hotels will tell you they aren't eligible.

Be careful, in USD, most banks give a crappy exchange rate (0.70) so factor that in when comparing. I just book a few hotels at Venere.com which has 15% off and is in AUD. When you factor in fees etc it's usually cheaper elsewhere. Check your banks fx rate and convert to AUD before purchasing.

    • Thanks for the Venere tip, just booked a couple of hotels through them that were already the cheapest even before the coupon :)

      • Is there a code for Venere?

Need to use the mobile app though.

Best way ive found to take advantage is to use the 28 degree/BW zero/citi+ cards to book on hotels.com

Then use their price match gurantee against cheaptickets. Hotels.com will match it as the promo code is a publically accessable one and not reatricted to members. End product is a +1 to your hotel rewards night and the cheapest rate

    • Thanks for the tips. Just to confirm do you book originally on hotels.com in USD?

  • Any suggestions for a first timer in Honolulu?

        Thanks Gav, great tip!

    • How long u going for?

      • 7 days. I was tempted to hire a car and book an Airbnb somewhere remote, but now I'm considering the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel for local amenities, and maybe hire a car for just 1 day for a self guided island tour.

    • I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel Waikiki.

reasonable price. good location. not the newest of hotels but comfortable and clean.

  • Ive said this once before when a previous code was put up, people are better off using the Expedia + SAVE10HSBC and will most likely get a slightly better deal, than paying in USD and using the 18% off voucher.

There may be some which are better or worse in price, but in a general sense, the Expedia AU deal is better.

    • Don't forget 5% Cash Rewards for Expedia bookings & 8% for Wotif (same prices as Expedia).

      • Damn it! Just booked through Expedia and thought I used SAVE10HSBC and saved….until I saw this and realised I forgot about CashRewards…

    • Just note the SAVE10HSBC code only works once per account. I also found that when I tried booking two rooms in one booking, it only applied 10% to the first room.

Great, managed to book the Grand Hyatt with a 3-for-2 promo. With the additional 18% off, a great deal!
