Open a new Complete Freedom account and get $50 into your account.

Here’s how to get the $50:

  • Open a “Complete Freedom” account online
  • Deposit $500 within 60 days

Good to know:

  • New accounts only
  • Complete Freedom has a $5 monthly account fee unless you deposit at least $2k per month
  • Offer ends 30 September 2016

*Offer available to customers who have not held a Complete Freedom Account (including all joint account holders) anytime from 30 May 2015. The offer is not available on the Complete Freedom Student Account. Eligible customers need to open a Complete Freedom Account between 30 May 2016 and 30 September 2016 (inclusive) and deposit a minimum of $500 within 60 days of opening the account (an "eligible account"). Eligible customers will receive $50 deposited into their account on the next business day following the 60-day period. Accounts must remain open on the next business day following the 60-day period to be eligible for the $50 payment. Offer limited to one $50 deposit per eligible account capped to one $50 deposit per customer. For customers with multiple eligible accounts, only the first eligible account will receive the $50 deposit, which may include a joint account.

    I called them and they told me I don't qualify as the $500 were not kept in the account. I told them in the terms and conditions it only specifies deposit and not keeping the money. They said I had to go to a branch to complain. Will do that on lunch break shortly. Idiots.

          So yesterday at a branch the manager assured me I would get 50 on Friday. She showed me on the screen 50 have been reserved already. Will see. I'll post on Friday what happens.

      No and I was promised Thursday.

      I'm going to steal $50 in pens if I don't get my money. Do they still have those chained pens in the branch?

    • Which is why I blocklisted them after missing the first call. I just google the number, see it is spam and block. They keep calling and they are welcome to do so. I think they did probably call me 20 times as well.

    St George will do anything to try and avoid the payment.

    Initially she said that you need to make two payments, which I did. She then went back to her supervisor who said the terms were:
    'make 2 deposits within 60 days, with the $50 being credited 60 days after the 2nd deposit'

    I suspect that they don't have the terms.

    They sent me an email address, I'll publish it when I know it is helpful.

      Wife and me got as well. Next week close straight away. Such a ridicilous account, monthly fee, it takes 2 days even to transfer between St George accounts themselves. Never had an account that sucked as much.

      • Yeah, especially since St George ATMs can be used for free with fee-free MEBank, HSBC and Citibank cards anyway. It's just a shame you can't make ATM deposits with these cards (AFAIK). Might need to use fee-free NAB again for midnight deposit emergencies.

        Make sure you exploit your free $10 first for the Hey You app and close before the 31st.

  • I got the $50 as well and want it to move my balance out but my acc is not showing up at the "From" drop-down list when l click on transfer, anyone else getting the same thing??

    • I had that when my account hadn't been verified, needed to go into a branch to show ID.

      is this the first time trying to move money?

    • By any chance do you have a non alphanumeric character in your account nickname? Like a $ sign? If so, you'll have to ring them to change the account name.

    Press security number then hash
    Press hash again

    With operator
    Confirm full name
    Provide reason.

        my wife closed her account yesterday, they didn't even ask for a reason.
