Toys R Us needs to get with the times and offer Click & Collect.

I've passed by many LEGO purchases at TRU simply because the shipping makes it it not worthwhile.

It's not just the cost component, it's the haphazard packing which may or may not result in crumpled boxes.

Click & Collect, as it works with other department stores, would use internal store-to-store shipping, and they are used to getting boxes to stores undamaged.

LEGO shoved into Australia Post with a bit of sticky tape (often ON the LEGO box, ugh) and bubble wrap is very hit or miss.

    • Exactly. Passed the 20% off deal simply because shipping cost me $14, and TRU is 5mins driving from where I work.

    • That would involve actually hiring some staff to man the customer service area.

Seriously, TRU has to have the worst customer service out of any big box store I've ever been to.

  • This is pretty good for regional areas. I tried to buy something small a while ago and they wanted to charge around $30 to post it!

Is toyRus going to come back to Pacific Fair Gold Coast, or to another location on the Gold Coast. Any news?

  • We got this for our little one last week with the $9 shipping:

This isn't a deal. Free shipping would be worth coming here for, but not $9 shipping.

    • agree. $9 is prob the wholesale cost of their shipping, but doesn't equate to a end user deal.

  • A bus fair to your local shops is less than $9 (well I hope it is for most people) so where is the deal?
