  • Lots of discussion in other forums as to whether these are backlit vs edgelit.

    recommend a quick review of:

If these come with the 10% gift cards as well this adds to the value.

    • i swear I read somewhere these were fald which implies backlit.

  • +2

Don't forget the extra 10% back as gift cards, today only.

  • I bought a Hisense 40" 4k for work, it was very basic in term of the UI, image was good.

I think "rival" might be a very strong word…

  • Only 4000:1 contrast ratio - nothing remotely close to the infinite contrast ratio of OLED

  • FYI - each $28 more at JB Hi-Fi

    • The HN price seems to be a special that ends today. But add the 10% gift card (today only) and it's more worth it!

ULED sounds like a type of Quantum Dot Technology - not comparable to OLED - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanosys#Products

  • Still LCD. Please correct title and stop wasting peoples time. Yes backlit LCD has got better, but nothing special about hisense.

    • Still lcd but it's a good price for FALD is it not?

    • FALD is a big deal in led backlit lcd technology so I wouldn't write these off.

      • OK, guess i should see it. I just get a bit sick of salesmen trying to trick people into thinking LCD TVs are LED based.

        • but I guess the question is with everyone drooling over true slim tvs are they actually being backlit over edge lit… even the top of the line sammys are doing some kind of edge lit trickery.

btw my oled is paper thin up top already :P

  • I'm looking at one right now.

    It's alright, I guess…

  • pulled the trigger on the 65" for $2400 and 10% as gift card.
tv looks good for the price + 3 years warranty. picture quality was excellent.

Watching the TV play a Hisense demo I wasn't blown away by contrast or colours (which are usually exaggerated in those demos). I'll agree with you that the picture quality was quite good though.

  • Hi All,

For those who did buy the Hisense M7000, any reviews, opinions will be appreciated.

    Cheers 👍
