Plus one. Nice post, I won't check ebay without seeing this post.

Called eBay, they are having problems with the codes. I called and got the money credited back to my account after paying for a product in full. :)

    • Looked at a jacket for $80. Discount didn't work so not buying! Also hate the new app update, old version was heaps better

    • Yeah the code is buggered (So much for encouraging people to use the app). They did say they will credit manually if I make a purchase but something about 15-20 days. Did you get the credit straight away?

      • +1

I used EBay chat and they said there is no way to get a manual credit?

        • I have it in writing from 2 different CS reps. (They're not the brightest btw so conflicting info is not a surprise). As long as you have the original targeted email from ebay saying you are entitled to the code, I believe it should be fine.

  • +1

Made a purchase this morning - worked fine.

  • +1

Used code a few hours ago worked fine

  • +2

Thanks, managed to use this…though had to go back to my computer and temporarily disable two factor authentication in PayPal. Quite disappointed that eBay/PayPal haven't got security worked out properly.

    • Ah, i just enabled 2fa on my paypal, maybe thats why the code is refused for me.

      • +1

        What's 2FA?

        • +1

Two factor authentication. Ironically it's encouraged yet ebay suggested i disable it or use their website to male the purpose, which I obviously couldn't do since the code applies to using the app.

Wondering if someone has actually used the voucher on a pc, instead on a phone?!

    Will give it a shot!

    • +1

I tried it last night on a pc, didn't work. I had the $15 off $50.

After a while I realised the effort just wasn't worth it for the 53 cents from cash rewards! Lol

I bought some Cat Revolution, which I was about to buy on eBay anyway. $39.50 delivered for a 6 pack is the cheapest I've ever paid.

    • +4

If it helps, I bought something on a PC but paid for it using a phone. It worked.

  • +2

got this too, but like most just don't know what to use on

  • It says on Ebay's front page this $15 offer is available to everyone.
    Here's a capture: http://ssl.cu.cc/3/untitled.JPG

bbbuuutttt… Still didn't work for me.

    • You have to be sure to use the ap pwrhaps find what you want on pc and set an item to "watch." When you open on app just select that watch item to purchase. Just guessing.

  • I got stuck at the PayPal Login page. For some odd reason whenever i try to log in to PayPal via the app, the page freezes.

    Anyone has the same issue?

  • I see the notice of this on my front oage of ebay, plus i received a direct message within messaging in ebay stating that i can use the $25 code, yet… It fails to work for me.

    • +1

Are you trying the code in the app? What is the error message?

      • +1

Code 3008 I believe. Had a lengthy chat with someone on ebay who after checking and rechecking but asking me questions about things i already told them, stated they would re-imburse my account. Not holding my breathe, but I do have the chat transcript from them in my ebay for later evidence.

    • +1

Same, I contacted Ebay via chat and first they tried to confirm I was making an eligible purchase (a Snow jacket for $85). But on their end I only had a pair of ballet shoes in my cart. However, I have never looked at ballet shoes in my life! They then said unfortunately I'm ineligible for this promotion, even though I have the offer sitting blatantly on my MyEbay tab. Clearly their system has lost the plot, all crossed up.
Not quite putting on the alfoil hat yet, but pulled a few of my card details from Paypal just in case.

      • That's just plain weird … about the ballet shoes. I would want to get to the bottom of that too. Changing your password may be a good idea too.

  • I have a banner on my homepage in Safari but not on Chrome on pc, saying I have the APPY25 code, weird. But I get the "you may have typed the code incorrectly error" on the app no matter what I do

    • It should work as long as you use the APP. Contact ebay directly. Some are doing this where there is a problem having the codes work.

  • In my eBay summary page I only have $15 off in that mean I don't have $25 off?

Just purchased something with my phone, seem like if the $25 code did not appear on your account you cannot use it.

    • Yes it is targeted; some people gwt one code, others the other code, and some nkne at all. The codes only work if you use the APO to purchase as well.

Sone people are having problems with the codes working so are contacting ebay direct to have discounts applied.

  • Where the hell are you guys applying the code? I am in checkout and only have a 'Redeem gift cards and vouchers' section that might be anything like where you might put a code and it doesn't work?

    • Did you receive the promotion? If you have you will have the $15 or $25 off in the redeem section. Otherwise you cannot type that in.

  • I don't even have a vouchers section let alone a voucher in my ebay summary. Where should it be located?

    • If "Vouchers" heading is not located on your eBay Summary (usually located at the bottom of the Summary), then it appears the offers are not available to you. I do not understand the logic as to why some are targeted with this offer and some are not. I assume something to do with spending patterns.

So far i do not know what to purchase (I have the $25 for $75 spend code in my "Vouchers" section) … and Christmas is not that far away really. It would be nice to be able to help someone else if i don't purchase anything, but how to do this safely eludes me.

      • What version of the app are you running and ios or android?

I used to be able to see the offers in the old app, but they are now missing in 4.2 (android). Ebay help suggested updating to version 5.0, but according to Google Play I'm up to date with version 4.2 and can't update to any mythological 5.0.

        • I have Android version 5.0 running on my Samsung Galaxy S5. I assume this is what came with the phone, although I don't take much notice with any updates.

Version of the app? Went to Settings/About and it says 5.1.0.13. I only downloaded this app just this very week from Google Play, following the message from eBay about the voucher. Hope this is of some help to you; I am a novice with the technology.

I cannot advise how to upgrade your Android version 4.2 to 5.0. Hopefully you can or perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can help. ❓

        • +2

@JediJan: uninstalled, then reinstalled. Now have ebay version 5, but can not longer find the voucher summary location and I cant read or scroll on the item description pages. I can't scroll through or reply to messages…then went to the help contact links at the bottom. They don't work at all. Same result on both my Sony E4G phone and my Pipo tablet. Must need more than 3gb ram / octacore. Or maybe because they are both mediatek based. Either way, ebay is stuffed!

        • @tunzafun001: Hi, I have just checked the app myself, and i cannot find a Voucher Summary either …

But, I just checked Messages and there is an (unopened?) message there that confirms the voucher discount code. I had apparently not read this message yet (dated 25 June) but it starts off "Save $25 .." but it opened okay.

Had no problem scrolling through item descriptions or messages. I have no idea why you should be having this problem. I can only suggest you do this on a computer, then return to this app to finalise payment etc.

  • +1

woo bought some earphones for $38, saved $15, (was $53).

  • Damn it! I've just tried to use that $15 off of a $50 purchase through the app and it has gone through fully. Why on earth force us to use an app that doesn't give people somewhere to put the code, just like a computers dp? Now I have to go through all that trouble of contacting them and blah blah. :x

    • It is there… in the payment options… you can even tick the checkbox to use codes that are associated with your account. @_@

      • Didn't even get there. I downloaded the app last night for the first time and I already had items in my cart (from my desktop eBay account). When I logged into the eBay app on my phone and went to my cart there was the PayPal link right in the middle of the cart asking me to log in. Stupid me, after I logged in with PayPal I clicked on the 'Place Order' button and it automatically payed for the items. Was used to the desktop version and wouldn't even have installed this useless app if it wasn't for that tricky $15 offer. Arggh!

        • +1

Meanwhile… over at eBay HQ: fistpump success!

        • +1

@zzyss: Thank goodness, I contacted eBay about the issue and they promised to credit my PayPal account. All good now. :)

        • I did the exact same thing you did. I downloaded the app yesterday morning and had also loaded my cart on the desktop beforehand. When I tried to pay for the items in my cart using the eBay app, not only did I not see any place to enter the "APPY15" code which I received in my eBay message, I did not get the option to choose my funding source for the transaction in the PayPal app! As I have no funds in PayPal, the payment has been taken out of my linked bank account which is my Citibank Plus account, with my 28º MasterCard being the secondary funding source. Immediately after this debacle, I transferred funds from my bank account to my Citibank Plus to avoid any dishonour fee.

          Am I missing something???

        • @fourleanhounds: The app is crap. Saw a lot of people complaining about it on the review section of the app itself. This would probably be the first and last time I'll ever use it. I contacted eBay and they promised to credit my PayPal account. As soon as that is fixed then the eBay app is going to the rubbish bin.

  • Any suggestions of how best to make use of the $25-off-$75 offer I've got if I don't need anything in particular from eBay right now?
I would have gone for a gift card but unfortunately they're excluded.

    • +1

Someone mentioned a good buy earlier on a 1 TB WD drive. I paid $100 for son's one last year. Check back over the messages to find his deal.

  • +1

Got $25 off purchase over $75 on app. It was just over $200 in total so hope I get a $50 voucher in a few days from Hump Month promo. Had to but this item anyway so good savings overall.

    • $200 before $25 off or after? Did they count before or after for the $50 store credit promotion?

      • +1

After $25 off my order was still over $200 so think I am eligible, voucher will only come after Jul 8. I highly doubt if after your discount it is under $200 you will be eligible for the hump month $50 off.

  • It looks like the discount is available to all now. It's coming up on the main ebay page.

    • What do you mean? I can still only get the $15 even if I pick an item over $75.

    • It only show up after you logged in.

  • +1

Thanks got it to work no problem.
Just make sure to activate the code below the area where you sign in to paypal but above the order button.
Was able to get two games from EU that are coming out next week for way less then half of there rrp price over here!

  • I see APPY15

  • +2

APPY15 seems to be a very good coupon for anyone who wants to buy Bravely Second for the 3DS. $37 after discount with C&C (or +postage) on the Big W eBay store :)

  • No luck for me :(

  • Hi, can you buy from international sellers or only AU? Who could confirm it works for items outside au?
    Thanks

  • +1

Well, sent a message to eBay telling them my voucher didn't work and they said they'll refund me back $25 like others have mentioned, so can't complain, cos i'll get that whopping 94 cents back in Cashrewards :D I bought: motorbike cover from Supercheap Auto, t-shirt from Surfstitch and a 4 pack of Oral-B toothbrush heads - $79.91 total

  • +1

I wanted to buy two different art books from two different sellers but i hit buy it now one at a time on my pc but I couldn't put them in my checkout cart afterwards in the app. So if anyone's out there that haven't used their codes make sure to not buy anything. Add them to your ebay app cart first all at the same time.

So I ordered one $50+ item that's not books. Oh well thanks OP.

  • +1

Hey if anyone's struggling to think of something to buy, get Samsung evo cards at 24.95 and 25.95, making it <18 for 64gb each on $15 off $50 or $16.80 on $25 off $75.

  • Quick question, if the item value is $40 and the postage is $11, making a combined total of $51, can I still use the voucher? Or is it on the value of the item without the postage cost?

    • -4

      sure can

      • +2

        Wrong. No you cant.

    • +1

The $25 off $75+ offer specified "excluding postage costs" … See "terms & conditions" under heading. If an item is listed as "free post" then that would be okay though.

  • Finally ordered & paid for 2 games from the UK for son … within the final hour! Put both on watch whilst using computer, signed out there then opened the App on phone. Put both items in cart and went through the payment process (ensured entered that code before I signed into PayPal). $25 discount applied and all is well … whew!

  • I tried for one hour to order via the app, with the PP app not accepting my PP login and saying I could complete the transaction using a PC. So I tried this on the PC and I antered the discount code and it said code not valid. I spent one hour on this shit, I give up. Absolute BS rubbish.

  • Just remembered this before and tried to log in on the app and it would not accept the username and password, even though it was right.
I eventually logged in but of course now it is past 11:59.
Do these deals usually end at the time specified or do they sometimes go over?
Also, I would have tried the coupon but it wanted me to buy first and I was not going to click buy if I could not see if the coupon would work before.

    • Not sure about the time but I assumed it would have ended at midnight.

Yes, you do have to click on buy, but enter the coupon code, then click order (the total adjusts for the code) BEFORE you sign into PayPal. Then you click order again to proceed.

I had no problems. As long as you have been sent the code and you dont sign into PayPal until the code has been entered and accepted, then order total has been adjusted all should be fine.

If there is a problem with the code then just cancel the eBay purchase by writing to the seller asap.

      • Thanks for that.
It would be better if you could enter coupon before click buy, then if code does not work then no need to worry about anything.
But isn't one of the rules in ebay that only click buy if you are actually going to buy? Wouldn't you get negative feedback or something for cancelling because of a coupon?

        • +2

You can, I added the items to my cart on my computer then opened the app on my phone, clicked proceed to checkout and entered the code before confirming.

        • @unco:
But when you click checkout isn't that when you commit to buy the items?

        • +1

@star64: Nope, when I click checkout it takes me to the next page where it has the summary, payment options and coupon code box.

        • +1

          @unco:
Alright, that is good to know, thanks for that.

        • @star64: Yes, when items are in the "cart" you have the option to delete them. Always double check the numbers too before proceeding. Dont sign into Paypal before everything is hunky dory.

(Not absolutely sure, but I think I noted somewhere that PayPal could be left signed in; bad enough you can do that with eBay, but on PayPal would be plain crazy on a mobile phone.)

      • Apparently "Gotta' Catch Them All" applies to Pokémon games as well as the little critters themselves. The desire is strong with this Pokémon trainer.

@ Pokémon trainers: Don't throw out any of your old games; some are "rare" already and fetching some very nice prices.

        (I know: Totally off topic)

  • wondering if anyone received their $15/$25 manual credit from ebay/paypal yet? my code didn't work on the last day of deal, i went ahead and purchased then livechat with ebay the next day. they said they will credit me so good thing i have this on email. what i found really interesting is that i received an ebay message from ebay on 25/6 about this code, i'm pretty sure i didn't delete the message but now its gone! i'm wondering if this happened to anyone else. i can only hope they honour the deal since its targeted…not sure if screen shot will mean much.

    • +1

Yep mine was refunded very quickly surprisingly, even though they said it might take 10-15 days

      • +1

thanks for your reply. i'll keep an eye out for mine and hope it comes thru :)

  • Still yet to receive the refund. Anyone else waiting for one?

    • +1

im still waiting for my credit too. hope it comes through soon…

      • Still nothing for me. Poor stuff from eBay support. Was told that I couldn't use the Groupon $100 voucher either but that was also rubbish. They seem to have no clue what they are talking about. Just making it all up as they go.

        • Still no refund here. Chasing up support. This is really crummy!
