        Thanks guys, hehe

        good find!

  • Gigabyte's MB are miles behind other brands in terms of BIOS interface..

    • -1

I'd say anything that still uses BIOS, rather than UEFI, is way behind. It ain't the 1970s any more.

    • I was a bit surprised when the UEFI interface of my brand new Gigabyte H110 motherboard was a bit more basic compared to my Asrock Z68 board from 2014.

      e.g this

BIOS/UEFI interface? I can't believe that we are having this discussion. Who cares unless there was a serious design deficiency that causes a loss of functionality. I would be more worried about Gigabyte's renounced lack of support/RMA when you are buying from an overseas retailer who won't handle it for you.

Is it compatible with xpenology ? I always want to build a powerful NAS

Seems expensive to build a NAS on this platform, have you thought about a HP MicroServer Gen8?

      • NAS with i3 to i7 is easily cost $1500 to $3000. QNap TVS-471, Synology DS3615xs.

Build your own hardware and load xpenology on it is just a fraction of the cost.

After tested xpenology, I love the Synology and QNAP NAS firmware. I decided to get a real QNap i3 NAS and upgrade it to i7 myself.

So tempting, do you have to ship back to the states for warranty? Or is there a local place?
